actually if you really must know, his comment was the same exact comment you made. he took your opinion, threw it away as not valid and offered a cheaper solution. sure he compared apples to oranges but you compared your apples to their bannanas. lets take a look.
Buying a 100k dollar car gets you performance but also a few more things...
1. Awesome looks. You can hate the gtr but i like it, dont care for the c6
fixed headlights.
2. Ride Quality. You can build a 10 second car for cheap but i bet its loud
obnoxious and probably had lots of fumes, whereas the z06/gtr will
perform how you want without a horrible ride (to the everyday person)
3. Dont have to run around trying to find someone to pass your 10 second car
through inspection.
4. Vehicle is stock and dont have to worry about cops trying to give you
extra tickets.
5. Creature comforts. 4 adults can comfortably sit in a gtr 4 door, two in a
vette. how many people can you fit i the back of your 10 second car
after half of it is a roll cage. does your car have gps....onstar ( rocks)
hookups for your mp3 player? leather seats?? power adjustable seats?
heat/ac anything? didnt think so
6. Vehicle is brand new, which means no shakes, rattles or bumps. i bet your
10 second built car rides like a school bus. Also your the ONLY one that
has driven that vehicle. feels good.
7. these vehicles are configured to last in the stock configuration. how long
do you think a fully built n20 motor is going to last?
those are the reasons that people buy these cars. also i hear gas mileage is pretty decent on these cars too. but thats another topic.
