Well, i've gone over this story with a bunch of people on here but for those that dont know here ya go...

exactly a week ago i was in my jrotc class(i'm a flight commander in charge of 13 freshmen) and they were watching some movie so i left class and went into our jrotc "office" which has a computer with access to the interweb(we're all allowed on it but we're supposed to only do rotc stuff...noone follows those rules tho) so i log on the computer, and start surfing no other site but njfboa.org...i finish responding to new posts, sign off, and delete the history(coverin my tracks)

at this point i left and my col. walked in...sat down at the computer, and saw that i had deleted the history and proceeded to write me up for "going on a computer i was prohibited from using and deleting important information"

i was sent to talk with the asst. principal and admitted to everything, expecting a detention or two. Â*next thing i know she says 10 day suspension with posible expulsion and possibly not being able to attend my senior prom

so there ya go...i was suspended for 10 days for logging onto njfboa...now THAT is dedication :P

that just means he's gonna spend ten ENTIRE days on here now.

that does suck though. I hope you don't get expelled and I hope you get to go to prom. I'm pulling for ya man

ok so here's an update for y'all...

the main reason(imo) that i was given the full 10-day suspension is because i'm friends with 3 other people that were suspended a week before me for hacking into the school's grading system(genesis) and changing grades

anyway those three kids' fates were determined today...they have been kicked out of school...not allowed to be in the school at all...not allowed to attend prom, not allowed to walk at graduation, and will be home-schooled...the only positive thing is that no charges were filed against them...unfortunately i may meet the same fate

Find out if your school monitors it's internet activity. Maybe there's a way to go and look at it so you can show what you were doing.

That's the harshest thing I've ever heard of for using a computer to cruise the internet... btw, dumb move on deleting the cookies. Good luck and hopefully it'll end up just being a slap on the rist.

thats why I always used an admin login anytime I was doing something I wasent supposed to

(stupid admins for not even checking for scripts)

I think the point behind the harsh consequences is: don't do it. (as opposed to "dont get caught")

In a civilian job, you just omit things you dont want known from your resume.

In a military career EVERYTHING follows you whever you go. That damn DD214 has your entire life on it.

JROTC is the prelude to a military officer career - don't **** it up before you really get started, if the military is the way you want to go.

i guess the point is that he shouldn't've been on the internet - period. proving where he was is really a moot point. supporting that theory is the ten day suspension...

yep, the ip you posted from would be logged on here, so you could prove you were on here if you actually posted from that computer that day.

Ouch - that would suck nutz man. Give me a call if the school wants login info....even though regardless of the deleted cookies, they should be able to track exactly what you did when you were on that PC.
