Ozzfest 2005

Two dates in NJ: 7/19 and 7/26. Both of those are a Tuesday, so means a day off work. You can check the whole thing at www.ozzfest.com

I'll probably go to one of them, though I would prefer PNC Bank Center to Camden. There's just something eerie about being in Camden after the sun goes down.... when the locals come out to feed....

I went to the second one at Giants Stadium in like '97 or '98. What a crazy show, the fans rushed the stage and started beating up all the state troopers.

I went to the last show in 2003 in West Palm Beach, FL. Jason Newstead was playing bass for Ozzy and did a great job. Happened to be visiting my parents there that week and took a day for the show. Rain, mud, grassy hill, beer stands at the top of the hill, and LOTS of topless women after the sun went down.

Yep, time to go back.

PS. Korn SUCKED live. Maybe they were just tired from the tour. However Disturbed ROCKED live. Looking forward to seeing Soilwork and Maiden live.

Oh great. I'll be driving down to Hilton Head, SC on saturday. A 13 hour drive with three kids....

I guess I'll just drive and zone out on the highway, thinking about the upcoming show (and fuming over being unable to buy tickets right away). I'll probably go for general admission anyway, and just plan to be there early enough to sit on the front side of that damn grassy hill.

Maybe we'll get lucky and it will rain. Sod fights and mud sliding was fun, if messy later.
