track was busy as ****, only got 2 runs in. my stupid BRAND NEW carter fuel pump is very sporadic and already crapping out after only 1 day of use. i launched and the FP was low so the N2O/fuel pressure switch cut the ground to the system and then on the way down the strip the nitrous was on and off sporadically as the pump was reacting with pressure. car will ran 120 mph but time was a crappy 12.8 first run and then a 11.8 the second run. i need to fix this thing ASAP. i got to meet up with jrsfast84 for a few seconds wish i wouldve had some more time though. i did get some nice video of the wheels up racing a vette... hehe smoked his ass at the end

ok now for what kind of pump to buy? it has to be electric, low pressue (about 6 psi) and needs no regulator or return fuel line

i had the carter fuel pump and its ****ed already any opinions.
i was looking at the Holley red fuel pump or the new one edelbrock came out with any thoughts????

You asked so here it goes... I'd get a regulator and run a return line. Don't you already have a return line with your EFI? How exactly do you have your nitrous setup because I'm all confused about the 6psi, no regulator, no return line thing. Sounds to me like you're asking for a crappy low flow carb electric pump which has been proven to be crap. Anything "build" for high pressure is going to work really well at low pressure 8) .
On the same topic, why not tap into the supply line for the EFI and just jet the nitrous plate according to the new higher fuel pressure? I'd also run 2 intank walbro pumps. They've been proven with the GN guys deep into the single digits and very reliable.

edelbrock efi is only a 6psi system?
everyone i know runs mallory pumps and never has any problems. they aren't too expensive and they are also quiter than most other electric pumps.

edlebrock is a 45-55 psi system. my nitrous setup is a carb plate since the edelbrockpro flo plate will not flow the nitrous demand for it. i have tried a high pressure pump and a 12-803 regulator and it will not stay regulated. i run 2 seperate 6AN lines on my car for fuel delivery for nitrous and motor. my fuel pump from edelbrock is an external 80GPH fuel pump max pressure 80 psi. if i tap into that line for my nitrous with a 900 psi bottle presure what will my jet sizes be for a 150,200,250,300, and 400 shot? also with that one fuel pump would i be able to support that hp or not between motor and nitrous? im calling summit tomorrow morning about returning that damn carter pump=****.

Joe, that pump doesn't flow 80gph at 45-55psi of fuel pressure. It flows that as near 0psi like into an open bucket. Put a pressure regulator on it and the flow volume drops steatily until it's putting out like 10hp worth of fuel flow at like 100psi. I've tested a lot of fuel pumps myself and the walbro's are the loudest but they're the best intank pumps for high horsepower fuel flow.
I don't know what nitrous jet you need to use but I need to ask if you're using the external pump inline with the stock pump. If so, that's a big problem and will bring that "80gph" rating even lower.
This is why I say dual walbro intank pumps if you're using the stock tank. It'll be enough fuel for 1000+hp at EFI pressure.
Fuel cell? I hope so or at least a pipe and sock in the stock tank.
Call up NOS and ask them what jets you need. They'll know. I could calculate it but I don't want to be responsible for your engine .

its the walbro fuel pump external mounted on the 6AN fuel line for the motor, i have eliminated the factory pump and put a piece of tubing in its place for the pickup. i have fuel filters before and after the fuel pumps so my injectors/fuel solenoids jets do not get clogged.

get two Holley BLACK Â*pumps, on the orange T/A we ran a 305" stock with a 150shot, went from 13.68 to 12.13, i'd put two regulars w/gauges, keep the carb. one about 6 to 7 psi., the NOS- at 6psi. Â*no more than that, the part #'s 12-815-1, do you have any fuel pressure gauges at all,my friend mite want to sell his old holley pumps, let me get a hold of him and i'll get back to you.don't buy nothing yet. how far are you from easton,pa.JR1.

Carb pressure regulators are a dime a dozen. Then you just need to tap into the return line and you're set!
