Alright, I woke up this morning to a flat tire on my jeep. Tried to use the jack, it doesn't ****ing work. Called my job, they told me they needed me bad enough that they sent someone to pick me up. Sooo, I need someone around here (New Brunswick) with a jack that could come between 1 and 3 today. I would call AAA but who knows how long they'll take. I'll call them if i need to, but it'd be so much better if someone could help me out.

Or even someone with a little air tank, that'd be cool cause there's a sears across the street.

thanks a bunch for the offer. I just got back from work though and since you have class at 2 probably no good. I called AAA, no biggie i guess. Hopefully they'll come soon.

You could also get a can of fix a flat..... hook that up.... it will prob get about 20 psi in the tire if you use the whole can.

Drive around... psi will increase another couple pounds

Get air then

Sears will prob have it in auto section

oh my god, who would have ever thought a ****ing flat tire would cause a ****** day. everything that has gone wrong with it has, i plugged it, plug is leaking a little bit, got a can of tire slime, hopefully that will be the end of it. I'm used to knowing at least someone with a shop anywhere i am that i can go to and be like hey, fix this, and its done. I don't know any shops around here. it sucks being a normal person.

um..ive been using them for the longest time and never had a problem. I even used them in the Nissan dealer, where i work, to repair customers car... no complains so far.

Yea, I prolly had 4 or 5 rope plugs in each of the right side tires in the Omni I used to have for delivering newspapers. Driving on the side of the road all the time causes lots of nails and screws to screw up your morning....

Wow, you guys use rope plugs at a dealer!!! We would get sued off our ass if we did, and probably loose our deals with major tire manufactures.

The PROPER way of plugging a tire is with whats called a Patch/Plug. Its a synthetic rubber "mushroom" that seals the tire from the inside, as well as sealing the hole. The leak is found, such as a nail or a hole, and the tire is removed off the rim. Its then clamped down, and drilled to a certain size, and the patch plug is pulled through the hole, sealed agaisnt the inside of the tire. Tire glue is applied to the sealed side to give it a better hold onto the tire. The tire is then remounted onto the wheel, filled and rebalanced. Then its put back on your car, and torqued down to spec.

Rope plugs have a much higher probability to leak or blow out, not to mention it looks like crap.

This process is why I get a lot of people looking at me like I have 7 heads when I say its gunan be 30 mins or so for a flat repair.
If you want it done like crap, go with a rope plug.
If you want it done right and last, go with a patch/plug.

Also, dont use fix a flat. If you do, dont go to Sears.
Fix a Flat fills the tire with that goo...so imagine to our surprise when we open that tire up and see 16oz of green **** that still didnt seal your tire. On top of that, the patch wont seal against the tire, and expect the salesman to talk to you about a replacment.

Well, i used a rope plug. But I'm also getting 4 new tires this weekend, cause i need them pretty badly anyhow.. WOOOO new sneakers!

As for tires...good deals going down at Sears on Black Friday. $50 gift card when you buy 4 Mich performance or truck tires.
BTW, found out that a lot of our prices are anywhere from +$20 to -.02 of the price of Tire Rack. Sears= Win!!
