i saw this on the news, after 37 years it's amazing he got it back. my older brother's fiero was stolen and it's a wonder we even got that thing back, let alone a corvette. that's really truely lucky.

Can you believe the # of cars stolen in New York city that year? On Jan. 22, 1969, 6,620 cars had already been stolen in NYC, 78,000 by the end of the year, avg. of 215 cars a day. Insane!

wow, thats amazing. i wanna email him and ask if i can have the car, lol, he probably doesnt want it anymore, he has a mercedes. They say the car wasnt registered or insured over the years, so they probably pulled the drivetrain and interior and sold it and then the car just sat. maybe a few years ago, someone probably bought it as a project to rebuild, put in the motor and interior but never finished it and thats why it was sold this time. Cool story though. I hope if anyone ever steals my SS once its done ,they kill themselves driving it away.
