Pulled the Engine from the 96 Z28
After months of procrastination, I finally yanked the Engine from the car. I was at first gonna take the trans off and go out the top, but last minute changes were made and it came out the bottom (with the trans). I have pulled many motors before but this was by far the biggest pain in the ass ever! I think GM just decided to run wires for the hell of it cause there are wires that I will never know where they go to and they just snake their way around the engine compartment. OK this is the end of my rant, I have till next weekend and It will be picked up and on its way to the scrap yard, all the extra parts will be stored in jake's (QuikZ28) shed and it will be the last of this car. Good luck to anyone who ever attempts this in the future, it isnt impossible but just a headache, some busted knuckles, etc.

when the time comes, mines was gonna come out the bottom (with the aid of a lift at my shop), but my boss, who worked at a Chevy dealer amd Neverlift, said it is easier to pull from the top.
needless to say, mines comin out the top.

Yeah well i would have pulled it from the top but didnt feel like disconnecting the trans from the motor. Besides its not like I really care what happens to the car. I just had the front supported by my cherry picker and dropped it on the ground when i was done. Good luck coming out the top!

if you didnt give a **** you coulda just taken the bumper/radiator off, cut the rad support out of the car and pulled it out the top with the trans on it....
ive even seen pictures of people that left them connected with the bumper still on the car...gotta put it at a crazy angle, but they did it
