Lingenfelter Cam
Hey guys, I want to get a new cam setup for my car and I was looking into the Lingenfelter 211/219, my car is mostly my daily driver and I heard these get excellent power gains and mpg, if anyone has some hp increases, or running this cam and could help me out id really appreciate it. Or any other cam you guys would recommend with good hp...
thanks alot

I ran the 211/219 in my car ( 93Z , M6, 3:42 gears ) for a few years, here is how I feel about it:
This is a very good street/tire fryer cam, but not good for racing. The 211/219 is a pure mid-range cam!
I installed the cam with stage II heads, 1.6 rockets, Mac shorty headers and 52MM Throttle body, and mail order tuning from Fastchip ( Ed Wright ).
I wanted the car as a daily driver and needed to pass emmisions. I got what I wanted, the cam actually ran cleaner thru the sniffer then stock. As for performance, car had a slight lope at idle, the mid-range torque of this cam is increadable and it rev'd quickly from 2,000RPMs to 5,600RPMs, then fell on it's face! HP peaked @ 320RWHP around 5200RPMs.
I really liked the cam until I started doing more racing, at that point I wished I had gone with something bigger like the Hotcam or 305 as I was finding cars with minor mods and bigger cams running near my times and trap speed, clearly the cam needed more duration! I ran on Nittos and never was able to hook very well, Leaving below 1900RPMs bogged the car, above 2000RPMs spun the tires, so it was a matter of being easy with the clutch. But the car ran very consistent in brackets with 2.0 60' and ET'd 13.0-13.10 @ 109MPH, in any weather!
99% street = Yes , Wanta race = NO

The Hotcam and 305 is a commonly used cam that has good results. I don't know that much about the L.E. package so I can't comment on it, maybe slasherbarb can post the specs?
Just remember you will need to upgrade your valve train with any cam swap, valve springs are a must, hardend pushrods, rocker arms.
As far as the headers, I've had no problems with them, they are basically Hooker knock-offs. I installed then when I swapped motors so I can't comment on the inprovement. I went from a 320 HP N/A motor to a 383 blower motor that's making about 480HP N/A.
