I'm joining the "Gods Motor" club
In a VERY nice way. Picking it up tomorrow.
http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...tbird93/Vette/
Got it for $20,000 with 53000 miles on the clock. It's a 99, six speed, sport seats, dual roof, foglights, selective ride control, cd player and changer, ORIGINAL OWNER who even has all maintenance records and the original window sticker.
Finally realizing my dream of owning one......now for the mods.....

In the works already. Planning on a set of Hyper-silver (essentially competition grey) C6 ZO6 wheels in 18x9.5 and 19x10 trim. Also going with a complete blackout kit on the car, and 20% tint....for starters.

That's a nice looking car. Is it a replacement, or just an addition to the fleet?

Kinda both. An addition to the performance side of things, but a replacement for the Lincoln LS (getting rid of it in the VERY near future). The Vette is going to be a daily driver for me for the most part. When winter rolls around its going to see VERY little action of course.

I really would love a black on black with black tinted windows & chrome rims ZO6(C5) I love the way they look(sinister)...but I just dont like the fact that you need to pay 10k extra for a body style basically...you know I'd be swapping many of the engine parts anywayz at some point meaning the ls6 motor would be worthless to me.

The Z06 also had better brakes and suspension, and was lighter.

I shouldve been more clear...i was more or less comparing a STD vette to a V8 ls1 fbody...most 99 fbodies sell for 9-10k...he just bought a 99 STD vette for $20k. I dont see myself spending 10k EXTRA for a little weight loss, two less seats and basically the same hp & damn near identical motors.

Have you driven one?? There's a night and day difference. I used to think like you do until I first drove a C5 a few months ago and was just floored. I know that an inherent amount of the extra price difference is the "Corvette" name, but the engineering and technology that went into the car and the bells and whistles included with the car make it well worth it. Besides, the Vette' is a true sports car whilst our beloved F-Body cars are muscle/pony cars, and not subject to the same level of refinement or attention to detail. I didn't go looking for a Vette' simply to jump into the LS1 world. I moved to the Vette' over an LS1 WS6 because I wanted what the Corvette had to offer.
