Funny Day at Work
today was my first day back from vacation. everything seemed pretty normal, the unreliable kid that they won't fire called out again, the lazy kid they won't fire sat around and didn't do ****, the department manager found someplace else in the building to be all day, so two of us got stuck with all the work. lik eisaid, it was a pretty normal day.
until..............some customer got on the overhead loud speakers and went completely off. it was f'ing hysterical. it started simple enough with a "attention lowes...." and then went way down hill. the guy seriously cursed for about 45seconds solid only dropping in a few non-vulgarities in the course of the rant. the grand finale' was announcing that everyone in lowes could suck his "big black dick"
it was classic, the managers were running around in a panic, most of the employees were about to piss themselves laughing, and of course, my receiving crew was the first group the managers called AND showed up to see who did it.
it is hard to look a pissed off manager in the face and not laugh when he is asking if you think "this kind of thing is appropriate". it was great. dudes face was brite red and you coudl tell he knew someone from corporate was gonna hear about this.
i can't wait until tomorrow when all the complaints from this little episode hit the 1-800 number. our district manager will prolly make it to the store in record time. lol

Well, funny I guess if you don't have direct responsibility for the store's management. But I hope its a wake-up call to management to get on the ball and stop being lazy.

teh management in my store is hopeless. our store managers nickname at his last store was "landslide" because that is what happened to the numbers when he was in charge. we call him "the wizard" (wizard of oz reference) because he hides in an office all day and all we here is his voice over the pa system.
we have two people in upper management of the store that i feel bad for, both smart guys who work hard. the rest are followers and yes men who are destined to never make an impact on anything in this world.

our phones say "page" on them, so it is easy. this isn't the first time a customer has ended up on the pa, jsut the first time they went nuts on it. lol

worst we've had at the depot was a customer that paged "anyone in plumbing that gives a **** come help a godamn customer"
he got the page code from responding to a page like "someone from hardware dial 339" and asking what the page code was
btw if anyone wants to have fun at the bridgewater1 homedepot across from the patriots stadium off of rt 28 pick up a phone...dial 7, wait for the prompt, dial 80, and knock yourself out
