Some progress shots, 56k grab a beer.

I'm a happy camper now

I finally got the '69 back on 4 wheels after replacing the entire floor from the firewall back to the tail panel (including the 4 subframe cage nuts). I also replaced both rear frame rails, which are now laser aligned to 1969 Fisher body specs. The body mounts, upper and lower control arms, axle perches, u-bolts, shock mounts, and offset shackles are all Detroit Speed stuff. Front springs and shocks are QA1 System 2 coilovers.

A shot of Paul (HardcoreZ28 )'s powder coating. He did an awesome job, the pics kinda don't do the stuff justice. You can see yourself in the caliper mount brackets with no polish.

Very very nice. Do you have a rough guestimate as to when that badboy will be tearing the street apart?

Thanks for all of the complements guys!

Yes, that's a 9" rear with a Nodular case. 4.11 Traction-lock, 31 spline moser axles, and daytona pinion support. Good eyes . Brakes are going to be rear discs when I get the $. Trans will be a T-56, behind a 496 big block.

As for the status of the car, it's going to go on the back burner for a little while as I am saving to send it to the body shop, which isn't going to be cheap . Don't let the pics fool you, the car needs two full quarters, outer rockers, and an inner and outer tail panel in addition to any other straightening, surface prep, priming, and painting. Not to mention I'm going to have it done in Tuxedo black, so that's extra $.

I'll post more pics as things come along.

The only thing currently getting burned out is me, mentally after so much metalwork. But just so you know, those rear tires are a little cut up so will have to be replaced when I get it on the road... get what I mean?

And Bonzo-

Married is next year. Kids are not for another 3... so you better believe I am doing what I can LOL.

I forgot to add buy a house. With a garage. That is part of the natural progression that slows a gear head down.

Work fast, take chances.

House yes, garage optional. There is no way I can do this at a house I will be able to afford, so I'm just going to leave it at my parents' place.

You need one to park the finished car. You will regret it if you don't.

She does, which is really cool. At first going to car shows and such was very foriegn to her, now she enjoys it. And this is AFTER I gave her the ring... so I know it's not pure BS. Not to mention that my brother and sister-in-law live 10 miles from Maple Grove, so going to the track is pretty common.
