Would be cool, but i hope they don't call it an SS. Just doesn't sound right. I vote they bring back the Stingray name if they do produce this....

I agree, don't call it an SS. Corvette never carried it, it shouldn't have to now. Stingray? I don't know...maybe. But it doesn't seem right either for me because the price tag seems way too high for the name Stingray. It would have to be something completely new.

Ehhh...I dunno, we have gone over this before. $100k for a Corvette? Its gotta do a lot for 100k...a lot more then just a Z06 with a bigger engine will do.

Someone will buy them, but when you really look at it...100k car better do a lot for me, more then just be a race car.
I think that Caddy needs to work on there 100k XLR-V first. Aluminum chassis, carbon fiber roof, Z06 brakes and suspension tuning, and dial in another 30hp, not ot mention spruce up the interior more, then its work its 100k price tag.

SS should not be on a vette.

Definatly agree. Corvette is a given that its performance (at least it was). Theres no need to deem a Corvette SS because in reality it already is because theres no base model (w/o performance in mind) and they still call it a chevy performance car.

I'd like to see the stingra name brought back too but not on that. I want the stingray to be a retro version. The american apeal of the corvette is fading as it starts to look more and more like a ferrari collided with a porsche and some older corvette for good measure.

I don't see it being an LS9 or an SS, or anything other than an L-88. It's got the hood for it...

They added a dodge neon engine for superior performance on top of the Z06 engine! That's what is under that bulge in the hood!

Woo hoo!

i like the mako shark idea for a name. stingrays r an estabished legend and even a religion to some(post author included). the mako shark is not as well known and should be. but i agree, SS doesn't sound right.

There are some other pictures of a blue one. It said to have a carbon fiber hood, with a clear lexan "window" where that big intercooler is.
There is also some modification to the fenders, the side scoops are split into 2 large vents, instead of teh one big one on the Z06.

i gotta say i agree with al, i dont want to see a $100k corvette. throw that engine in the xlr-v type r, up the suspension/brakes, and then put your 100k+ price tag on it
