Who's going to watch Forza Showdown on Speed at 11:00 PM, 2/28?
I saw the first episode on 2/21 and all I have to say is that this is the first reality show that I actually like. For those that missed the first episode, this show is basically about 6 amateur drivers, all with different racing backgrounds, who are given a car and a race crew to compete in different racing categories such as drag racing, road racing, autocrossing, drifting, and oval racing. They get credits based on how they place in these events and can use the credits to buy aftermarket modifications. The 6 cars were the following:
Corvette C6
Nissan 350Z
Nissan 350Z
Ford Mustang V8
'73 Dodge Challenger
'69 (?) Camaro
My favorite driver is Angela Cope who drives the mustang. She's never drag raced before and have never even been on a drag strip. Therefore, she was nervous and wasn't confident. On her first 1/4 run ever, she runs a 12.9 in her V8 mustang with the manual transmission and wins the event.
It's hard to find any good online pics of her. You just have to watch the show to see what she looks like.

I saw the first epsiode...yeah it looks pretty sweet. I'll try and catch the episode tonight. Any idea when reruns are on in case i forget/miss it?

they dont have speed channel on the Armed Forces Network that im forced to watch out here in the desert...or id so be watching it.

Had never driven the cars before then. And it was on street tires. Camaro/Challenger modified and thus overpowered the track.
Vette should have done better. 350z underpowered so traction not a prob. Plus that girl could drive pretty damn well. As shown on the road course. Also the challenger only could make 2 runs unlike everyone else who made 3. (had a tranny problem - couldn't get out of reverse)

the kid Jace races karts and it was his first time in a c6 and a 6spd car. i think he may come out on top.

I actually wanted the Japanese guy to get the C6. He would have been invincible. I think the show wanted to fit the stereotype of putting a Japanese driver behind a Japanese car. And, as soon as I found out that there was a female driver and a mustang, I knew they would be inseparable.

Guy in the Z was PISSED when he couldn't pass the C6 on the straights (wonder why...). Good show I'm surprised at how not bad it is...

This second episode wasn't as good as the first one. There were too many fillers in this one and too much talk. Also, Angela Cope didn't shine like she did in the first event. I did enjoy Ken Gushi's autocross performance. He drove so well, but that heavyweight Z was nowhere close to being as nimble as the C6.

turn a video game into a reality show and get some primetime plugs for your video game system... xbox 360. i think they have been predictable so far.
love the camaro concept's cameo shots, tho. what a sweet ass ride.

im watchin it now, the camaro and the challenger seem like pieces of crap. in the episode i just watched they kept breaking. floor pans fell out, driveshafts snapped, trannys f'ed up, electrical problems, etc... as for angela yea shes pretty hot. i was def suprised that she beat everyone and ran a 12.9 in the stang. i thought for sure the vette would of win. that goes to show ya that horsepower aint ***** if your driver sucks
