oil pan question

im asking this for a guy i used to work for. hes looking for an oil pan for a smallblock chevy with the dipstick on the right side. he wants the one with the dipstick that goes staight into the pan, not the one that goes through the block. if anyone knows of a year/make/model that had that type of oil pan please let me know.

Ok a question from my early days -- the 1955 and 1956 - 265 CI SBC V8 was all by its self the block and oil pan are different as well as the rear main seal its made out of rope -- it also has a special intake with a breather pipe in the back next to the distributor all into it self 265 only bends and length - the 283 cars 57 / 58 were almost the same not much interchanges with thos old ones and some very early ones did not even have block #s - as the car was rushed into production -- jz
