Blew up my engine...
Well I guess I dont have to worry about the lousy 158hp that I made on the dyno at TTP last month. Last weekend I was sitting at a red light when the engine cut out. I got it restarted after a bit of trouble & it had a rod knock. I was able to baby it back to work & park it. Last week I started taking it apart to find the source of the knock. I now have the heads off & I still havent found anything wrong. Its got to be in the bottom end.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of a good place to work on the car, I may be forced to replace the engine with the same thing. I want to drop an LT1 into it, but untill I have a garage, I may not be able to do that. I talked to a few people on 3rdgen.org It seems that an LO5 350 out of a GM truck is a pretty straight foward replacement for my LO3 305. The 305 harness will even work with the 350. So I think I am going to upgrade to that and probably drop an LT1 cam into it. I still wont have a high HP motor, but I will probably have 30-40 more hp than what I had before.
Ill keep you guys updated.

if i were you id go with a 350, throw some vortec heads on and a larger cam than an lt1 cam along with a carb intake, larger injectors, fuel pump and some computer work and put down some serious power out of a TBI ... IMHO
