Jeffrey does not work well with credit cards...
Alright, my parents showed me the worst thing today. So instead of goign to the BBQ cause of the horrific rain we got, I went to Best Buy and finally got a digital camcorder, and they at the last second decided to sign me up for a Best Buy card so I wouldnt have to pay for it upfront, just pay it off over time to establish some good credit. Well thye really never explained to us how credit cards work in school, so I never knew, but my parents gave me the crash course on it today, and now, I was looking around on eBay and saw an 01 SS 325hp LS1 with trans and said those bad words...make no payments untill 08 if I signed up for a paypal card. Im really on the rocks thinking abotu it, and I damn well know if I keep this up, im gonna be waist deep in debt.....but i want it so badly lol. Now theres people out there with drinking problem, gambling problems....I got a future debt problem in the works and I can see why its hard to stop, and I havent even started yet!!

I used to be good with my money, but now..... the income isnt as sufficient as it used to be so I havent been able to buy anything awsome for my car in a while, and my car is almost my life, cause its alot more respectful then a girl lol, speaking of which, ill make a seperate post about that, but anywho, I just hate the fact that I cant buy anything for it fo the time being, and I really want something done to it to make it worth all that suspension and outside appearance to it. Im sick of looking good on the outside, but when peopel drool over it at the local gas station and ask me waht s in it and I tell em, they scatter faster then roaches in the light. But I do know that If i overdo it, then your more screwed then if you had no money to begine with, its just I got bit with the pay later bug, but I do know I gotta be responsible. thus why the cards only good for Best Buy lol.

When I got my first (and only) credit card 6 years ago, my mom gave me some great advice: Pay it off every month, so that you don't pay the company for the privilege of you having their card, and never put anything on it that you won't still have when you pay the bill (ie. gas, groceries, etc etc). I followed that for a long time, and then I started getting a little spend happy with it, and every month it seems like there's still $1500 on it, regardless of how much I pay off.
Stop worrying about what other people think, and save your money until you have enough to cover whatever you want. If you start impulse buying, not only will you hurt your credit, but by the time you either a) start making payments on that no interest loan, or b) pay it off, there will be SOMETHING newer and better that you say "ah sh** thats so much better than what I have now."
One more note, if you start building good credit now, it WILL pay off in the future, and bad credit will absolutely hurt you. Credit is used as a judgement for a lot of things now, not just loan applications and credit cards. My car insurance is probably lower for 3 vehicles (1 with full coverage) than most peoples' liability insurance on 1, simply because of my credit.
Its just something to think about.. Good credit can ONLY help you in the future, and if you start messing it up now, it WILL hurt your chances at loans, leases on apartments, mortgages on a house, and even jobs in the future, since many companies use credit score as a responsibility indication.

you mentioned you dont have sufficient income, if thats the case, dont screw with a credit card. buying with credit is fine if you make the money to pay the bill that will be coming ( and i dont mean paying the monthly minimum).
if you dont pay the card off every month, or at least every other month, the intrest you will be paying will make it like you bought the same thing twice, and it will seem like you have even less money for parts than you did before the card.

well I mean as in Im paying all bills ontime, its the leftover money that goes towards fun things is what isnt as sufficiant anymore, But yeah, im still takign the high road and only using my debit card and good ol' green paper for purchases. Theres a reason why theres credit card and debt commercials on tv so much, cause too many people impulse. TV taught me a good thing.

"Its not your fault you're in debt"

If you ever look closely the interest rate on the cash call commercial is in excess of 99%

I think of it this way if you dont have the cash to buy it now you cant get it. Work hard, save and in a few years maybe you can get an even better deal then what you are looking to get now.

Matt, note a person who is responsible can use cards to their advantage. I always pay for my gas on a CC. I get 5% back for every purchase. I pay it at th eend of the month. That is the key part.

If you can use it responsibly, you can make every purchase with a CC. I rarely carry cash nowadays, the card is used for everything from dunkin donuts in the morning if I ran out of coffee at home, to groceries, to gas, to my cell phone bill, etc etc. I/we pay it off every month and that's it.
