				Vista help
			 
 
			
			When I open a picture in Vista it puts a tan overlay color over everything. wtf is that and can I change it?

			ah sorry, tho i dont know what the problem is i would guess it has something to do with either your video card (VGA) your graphics settings or both.

I can look at my computer later and see if I see any settings related to opening pictures. Also what version of Vista are you running? 
 
Honestly going to XP is not an option especially if he computer was purchased with Vista on it. I dont think that he (no offense as I dont know your computer knowledge) has the ability to put a working copy of XP on the computer and get around the fact that it needs to be activated. 
Vista is not that bad (compared to XP) and has some definite imporvements over XP.

			im not going to get into a debate about xp vs vista... and no, it has nothing to do with the graphics cards thats for sure.
 Yea windows opens the pictures fine, but the background color for windows picture viewer is some tannish color, and it happens to overlay the entire picture in just the viewer window (like sticking a color filter on the end of a lens). if i open it in paint or photoshop, or make it my desktop background (or even the previews) it is displayed correctly... i guess its supposed to be a border color, but i cant find any option for something like that.

 |  Can you send me a screen shot? May not work though, lol. Or take a picture of the screen and send it to me, I am thinking it is one of the wondows "themes" parts but I am not sure.
