Outer Door handles

Is there a way to replace the outer door handles? Seems like u have to replace the mechanism inside the door also on 93+ camaro’s. The only reason i ask is they have chrome handles for pre 93

Social Networks:

You can swap 3rd and 4th gen door handles. They appear different, but it's really just the shape of the door that makes the 4th gen ones "flush" and the 3rd gens not. I see a lot of 3rd gens that have 4th gen handles...just a little bit of a smoother look - they still stick out, but the handle itself is smoother.

I've never seen a 3rd gen handle on a 4th gen, so I dunno how it would look - but it should fit with no issues. Might wanna measure one first to make sure there aren't small differences in length.

yea i noticed its a much smoother design for the 4th gens. I might take my passenger one off tomorrow and see if I cant polish it up real nice. Give it a 'chrome' appearance from a distance like many people have done to alternators and intakes. See how it looks and if I dont like it well im having the car repainted anyway and ill just prime and paint it myself till then. If i like it might jus buy the chromed 3rd gens (their 23 bucks) - car is going to be all black with subtle chrome accents, thought the door handle might look nice and different.
