Choose my car color
Paint is a few weeks away and I have yet to decide on a paint color. I love my black camaro - its sexy to me. There are some times though when i feel like these lighter color camaro have more to give, really show off the lines of the car better. I don’t know how to explain that i hope u understand what i mean - i feel like the black color hides the car, makes it seem smaller even, especially at night.
I also want to point out that i love Berger panels and love when the SS hood scoop is painted a diff color also. I have started to look for shades of gray and the darker the better. I think i want a nice dark gray, gloss black painted hood scoop and gloss Berger panel (i know it 'should" be flat black, but hey its not a Berger camaro in the first place.) I like pewter but its not dark enough for me.
I came across this lambo color and initially drooled over it but i think it might be missing some metallic element and someone posted in the thread where i found it that it looks like gloss primer but its still an awesome color - take a look
Id like to see if someone can show me some other examples of dark gray cars

ok so i cant sleep, i can never sleep. About 10 min ago the color i have been searching for jumped into my head. I hope u all dont hate me for this but the car is Eleanor, u know "gone in 60 sec", gt500. Dark gray on black. I wont bother to post a pic on our camaro forum but I think thats the color.
What do u think about my proposed color palette = dark glossy gray with gloss black Berger panel and scoop with all chrome inserts (rear bumper, grill, hood scoop insert, nose emblem, possibly some 69' "Camaro" script fender emblems and maybe a 69 "Chevrolet" script tail emblem where the ss or z28 emblem goes, to tie in my chrome rims)
oh and forgot smaller details like headlight area will be gloss black as well are side mirrors and roof panel (not sure what its called - peice b/w rear hatch glass and t-tops) and gloss black door handles - this will help the flow of the car and tie in the berger pannel and scoop

sounds like a real sweet idea to me. i would try to not go exactly with that color like a couple shades off or maybe a little metallic black in it. i would personally not get to crazy with the chrome accents, it sometimes just looks tacky. do what you want though, its your car. all in all though, sounds sweet. and expensive.

When Barrett-Jackson was on a few weeks ago, there was an older Vette painted some Audi Phantom Gray color with black chrome bumpers. It was SWEET! I have a third gen that would look great wrapped in that paint with some black stripes.
I couldn't find it on Google, though.

sweetbmxrider - yea the chrome stuff is very last and can easily come off or never even go on. "little metallic black" - good idea, i want it to be dark. I was even thinking of maybe adding a little matalic flake to the gray lambo color but not sure. I think the lambo gray is too plain.
1_Hot_SOM_WS6 - i just cant do it white, never liked white cars
harner - i cant find a picture of it either

DSG is Dark Shadow Grey, its a Ford color, most comonly found on Mustangs.
For petes sake please don't go with Dark Shadow Grey or Viper Grey, they are one of the two most played out colors in the 4th Gen F-body crowd.
Whatever color you go with, certainly keep the roof black, with the painted head light buckets & grill. You won't regret it.

Then why cant i find any pics of dark grey 4th gens? And yes the roof will be black, side mirrors are black, and headlight are going to be black.
this was just a quick photoshop. I added my body kit, black scoop, black side markers front and back, tinted the windows, added the berger panel - dont laugh its just a quick job

maybe you see so many dark gray's because it looks so good? definitely keep the black parts to break it up though. i know this won't get a lot of support but i saw a siiick carbon fiber cowl hood on ebay. that along with the carbon fiber berger panel and ur paint scheme, that to me would be hotttt.
carbon fiber hood

yea i love the black parts - i cant stop looking at the photshop i did above with my bodykit and the black parts like the scoop and berger.
I thought about the carbon fiber hood but not that one - this one and the carbon fiber berger but i couldnt find the buyger and i cant say im really a fan of it but it was an idea. I think the gloss black will flow better

[hijack]
Why do all 4th gen guys insist on calling black painted tail panels 'berger panels'? Berger Chevy did not invent black painted Chevy tail panels. Chevy did.
For some unknown reason this is a huge pet peeve of mine, LOL

[hijack back on]
I see it as more as forum or industry acronym for "flat black rear tail light panel". But you make a compelling argument.
[/hijack back off]
can i hijack my own thread?

carbon fiber tail section *not exclusive to berger* that site has a lot of carbon fiber but again, too much would be too tacky. just something to day dream about.

yea its almost set in stone for me, I just have to choose the gray now. The viper gray has a hue of blue that im not a fan of. There was a GMC Denali that passed me yesterday that had a nice gray - there r so many shades to choose from

Heres my opinion if you want to something that catch's the body piant the car Electric Blue metallic its a Chrysler color. Also the new Pontiac G6 has it. I think the gray hides the shape of the car.
Here is the color
Here is a camaro but only a blue color and you make you car look like this you will have a different camaro then everyone else.
