meh, i dunno 109k miles is a bunch. I bought my 2002 Z28 last January with 18,500 miles for 12,900 from a dealer. No, its not a hawk, but I'm willing to bet you can find a better price on something with that many miles.

That's a lot of miles, but 'hawks always command more money that Z28s or T/As. Look for other hawks and SSs for sale with similar mileage to check the price.
I think that's a pretty good deal as long as it's taken care of.

My opinion spend a little more so you get a lower milage one. Im sure you can find one with under 60k miles for $13,000 and that wouldnt be a bad deal.

high miles for that car - only 6 model years between then and now, so that's an average of 18000 miles per year - that's heavy. you should find most cars in the 12-15000 miles per year range. and if it's got that many miles, how was the maintenance handled? were oil changes done every 3-5000 miles? doubt it. if oil changes were not done, how many times was it in for servicing of any kind (that would normally catch significant wear on other parts). surely he's bought tires at least once, but how about the brakes? was the transmission ever touched? there are more questions than answers with a car with that many miles on it.

well look at it this way, its already high mileage so you don't have to worry about how many miles you put on it, its got a new clutch so the guy/girl must have taken some what good care, and theres only 1 owner to drill with questions about how it was maintained. You also say it was garage kept, so its going to be a fairly clean car. The only pitfall I can see would be the condition of the driver seat, does it show 109k worth of wear??? Was the car every raced, and how often???

I drove my bird 105,000 miles on its 1st 4 yrs. Its now at 124,000 and was tested by TTP for its condition and still within specs. And still pulling 13.3 times on tracks its 1st time out last year. 1 owner is a blessing and ifs its the condition you say he obviously took care of it like I did mine. So dont let that high mileage stop you. Just negotiate the price. Since you will probably upgrade anyways what does the high mileage matter. I have seen these birds in upwards of 200,000 miles and still running on the road. So make a deal and have fun.

Are you buying this primarily as a collector car or as a toy to mess around with?
If you are buying it so it will appreciate in value, I would say you shouldn't care about the miles. It's a 2002 Firehawk, the last year made. Make sure everything is complete, clean, and not messed with and you can fix it up so it will appreciate right.

If you are buying it to mod and mess with, I'd look for a lower milage car.

If $10K is asking price you might be able to get it for closer to 9. That's not a bad deal for a Hawk if that is what you really want. A Hawk with 50-60K miles will still probably be in the $17-20K price range so double the miles for half the price isn't bad.

as long as the car was taking care of i think it would last with a decent beating and some bolt ons. I mean come on a fox body mustang has over 600k and still takes turns like a coyote.
