I can't win, truck got hit - pics added.

After an bad day working on the car, I decided to go to a birthday party for a friend of mine up in Lawrenceville. Food, cake, and wiffleball...ya know the good stuff. There were a few young kids there ~18-19 all around this one kids GSXr 600 and next thing I know the kid is going up and down the street doing wheelies. Thought to myself, this kid is gonna crash or hit a car! Well, next thing I hear the thing cut out, hear it sliding, then BAM! Ran up to the front of the house to see the kid AND the bike UNDER my truck! we pulled them out in fear of a fire with gas, and all sorts of other fluids all over the place. He got banged up bad! Road rash to the bone in 4 spots, and got a ride to the hospital in the ambulance. After cleaning up parts of Suzuki from under the truck I realize he destroyed my power steering box, bent my center link, and turned my front wheels (which were straight) to a 45* to the right My steering column was completely locked up and took alot of force to unlock it, as soon as I started the truck all the power steering fluid that was left came blowing out, and I hear some pretty nasty grinding when I turn the wheel. Left the truck, gonna call the insurance company first thing in the morning. I just talked to the kid a little while ago, they released him from the hospital, and will be meeting up with me tomorrow to square everything away. I was glad to hear that he was okay, but with three weeks until Ocean City, I need my tow vehicle ready, and doubt it will be.

Yeah I was very happy to see that he was okay, we moved the bike for him and collected all the pieces for him. He was an okay kid, just made a very bad decision. I just hope that he doesnt make another one and tries to run from this problem. There is a police report, people know him and where he lives. But from what I hear he should be good on his word for calling me tomorrow and working with me on this. Just hope he heals and can learn from this, and I can learn that whenever I go to a party again to call a cab because my modes of transportation all are down now.

Not really! He was lucky that it was lifted enough to slide UNDER it, and not into a bumper or the fire hydrant he was lined up to hit! The bike hit the tires and stopped, he kinda slid under and got banged up on the other stuff hanging down.

jon, i have a similar story from back when i rode...

my buddy convinced a friend to teach him how to ride so we all went up to the dmv course on rt1..everyone parks and a couple guys on bikes start making laps....well this kid gets all his instruction and gets ready to start to ride, but they made 2 really big mistakes...
1. he shouldnt have been learning on a BRAND new r1
2. the bike shouldnt have been aimed at his MOMS new caddy cts

long story short the kid thought he was on a dirtbike and gave it WAY too much throttle letting the clutch out, lost it immediately and hit his own moms caddy.

the kid brought the caddy straight to my dad and had it fixed before his parents came home from vacation...unfortunately that was the last time i saw him and he dissapeared and never paid the other guy for the damages on the r1

Power steering gearbox, tie rod, and a good alignment...I think you can have this up and running in a day or two yourself, no?

I could no doubt do it myself in a day or six , BUT I have to get the car ready for ocean city and this is just a side track that takes away from that. Already set it up, going to be bringing it down to the dealer tomorrow for estimates.

Man that is horrible the tow vehicle is out. Talking about bike wheelies I had this guy do this next to me on Rt.55 last saturday. I took the pic just as he lifted his wheels.

18 year old + bike= disaster, below looks fun until the bike is on top of you.

Or until you realize that while a T-shirt and jeans are comfortable while you are riding, they disintegrate within 4 seconds when you are sliding.
