Do comic strips count? Dilbert, Real Life Adventures, F-Minus, and the retired Far Side & Calvin & Hobbes.

I also have the 12 book series where the Green Goblin was a hero.

The Tick. Great answer. Thats cool if you like comic strip characters. I think thats how the Shadow and Dick Tracy started out.
I didn't used to be into comics as much as I am now. I don't even know what started my liking again at my age. I used to like the heroes mentioned and I still do, but my favorites are now lesser known heroes like Captain Atom, Captain Marvel-Shazam, Azrael, Firestorm, Blue Beatle, Booster Gold, Blue Devil, Hellboy, Havok from the X-men. I like popular ones like Capt. America, Iron Man, Punisher.
Any of you still go to comic book stores? Somerville, and North Plainfield on 22 have a good selection. Its amazing when you go there. You see so many comics on the shelves you want to read. I wonder if Magic cards are still popular at those stores.

I was a big X-Factor fan (Havok rules!) but I lost interest when they "killed" him off.

i guess i stopped comic books about the same time that my step-monster threw away my collection while i was in drug rehab.
my favorite all-time character was simon williams, aka wonder man, with the Avengers for a little bit. i was heavy into reading them back when they cost .35 each. i had most all of the Avengers, X-men, Wolverine's 4 book mini-series, etc. check what they are worth online sometime. it'll make you sick. what i paid .35 for back then is worth 10,000 times that amount, in some cases, now. i've always secretly wanted to kill her, and her throwing those away while i was getting myself together really made me want to use again. her and my dad got divorced shortly thereafter, which made me chuckle inside - no, i had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I always liked Batman, The Punisher, Iron Man, War Machine.
Basically the heros without superpowers I found to be the most interesting.
Oh yea, SPOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!

I was a big Marvel fan when I was younger...Captain America is my fav. Fav group is the Avengers. Also dug Iron Man. But I gave up on comics when the price went up, and the quality went down. I remember back in the day when a buck would get ya 4 comic books. Or 3 comic books and a small frozen coke.

Yeah, the price is ridiculous now for comics. I try to wait and buy graphic novels if available.
Thats cool WildBillyT that you liked Havok. I am never sure how many people even know of him at times. I didn't know he beat the incredible Hulk by himself. Thats something even the whole X-men probably would have trouble with. I can't believe that didn't get more press than it did.
That sucks about the comic collection Jims69Camaro. Typical story of the mother who throws away comics. lol. My mom wanted to do that to my brother's collection.
ANy of you guys hear about the DC Mortal Kombat game coming out? Looks kind of interesting. Its been done before with Marvel and Capcom. I heard Iron Man turned out to be a good movie. I hope the Dark Knight does well.
Capt. America was a great hero. Kind of sucks they killed him and now his sidekick is the new Captain America. No one will ever replace Steve Rogers. ITs just hard tofit a character like that from WWII into today's world.
Any of you guys watch that Justice League cartoon or the old Batman the animated series cartoons?

In college I watched Batman the Animated Series. Great show - captured the mood of the character with so many silent scenes where he was just observing and preparing to strike. The writers didn't feel the need to fill every moment with dialogue which I think did the character justice. I tried to get into Batman Beyond but the character Terry just irked me - maybe its the punk feeling to him, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the Animated Series.

Another hero I collected many issues on was Green Arrow. The series in the 90's before Kevin Smith got ahold of him, was much darker and grittier than the feel-good feeling Kevin Smith brought to the character. I guess that period of Oliver Queen's life appealed to me much the same way Batman does - a darker theme, always feeling outnumbered and rarely making headway against the criminal element. The three part graphic novels called The Longbow Hunter was superb.

The Justice League cartoon is DAYUM good! Only thing that sux for me is it seems like I'm always tuning in late and catching the last 15-20 mins or so. But is is def a tight cartoon, stories and animation are done very well.
