First Perk of Motorcycle Ownership!

Not sure how many charge their gas on a card, but I never pay cash so that I can keep track of my habits. Well its been almost a full month of owning my motorcycle and I've put about 600+ miles on it and I was riding it just about everywhere when it was nice out. I do a lot of driving for my one job in my S10 which is my daily driver, and the Z28 was taking a break so its pretty much been the only mode of transportation for the past month.

Well I got my first gas bill since I started riding, and it is possibly THE lowest gas bill I have ever payed! I usually average $200~$300 if I'm frequently driving both cars, and this bill was only $100!

You can't beat it! Just the amount of money I'm saving riding the bike is making the payments.

i'm thinking of buying a bike myself. for the same reason you mentioned alex. the gas savings will practically pay for the bike.

That's awesome. I'm studying for my DMV knowledge test right now so that I can get a motorcycle permit, get in and pass the safety school, get my license, and then get a brand-new 250R, drive that for a year for as much as possible, and then get a brand-new Hayabusa.

Yeah, I did the math:

200 miles of city driving on a 250cc, 250R will only cost me $14 while the same 200 miles on my Z28 or GTO will cost me at least $49. Now, that's a huge difference!!!

The bike will pay for itself in a short period of time. And it only costs $3,499 brand new and perfect for city driving. I'll learn on that and, after driving it for a year, buy my dream bike--a brand new 1,340cc Suzuki Hayabusa!

I almost purchased a bike a few times. Too many crazy car drivers, but with gas prices, it may be worth the risk.

The good thing about high price of gas is that we'll see less of the big trucks and SUV's on the road making it safer to drive a motorcycle.

Yup...I was playing wiffle ball at a birthday party and decided, ya know what...it would be a great day to do $4500 worth of damage to my truck, let me park it legally on the side of the road so some jackass on a bike can hit it.
