Judging by the number of newspapers over steering wheels, lighted mirrors lowered for makeup, cellphones being fumbled around, and left lane right turns, I think "dumbest" is probably an aptly given description for drivers in this state. No wonder our insurance is so high.

That's not surprising at all. Wouldn't be surprised if people in Monmouth County had the worst of the worst scores. The things I witness around here are mind-boggling.

Test? Whatever.

I blame it on something different.

Roads designed to handle way FEWER people than the number that actually drive on them in a few big parts of the state. Just like the tomfoolery in center city Philly, or Boston. So a lot of wacky driving is "normal".

I think it's more a sense of entitlement than anything else.

Some of those questions are weak. On 18 there is a choice between "stop if it is safe to do so" and "be prepared to stop." I feel like one should be prepared to stop in order to safely do so.

I just took it and number 8 is absolutely wrong. you are not allowed to pass on the right in NJ on a multi lane road there are signs everywhere, keep right pass left.

#14 they say you should be going at the same speed as traffic, what if they are speeding then you'd be breaking the law you should be doing the speed limit so you can merge.

Finally, #18 when approaching a steady yellow light what the hell is the difference between be prepared to stop and stop if it is safe. Yellow means slow the hell down I'm about to turn red regardless of someone else plowing into the back of you.

This test is a little screwed up.

why? why would an average change when you increase the number of applicants?

It is a small sample size to make such a claim regarding each individual state. If the breakout is 110 people per state then it's probably statistically significant. If it's not an even breakout then it probably isn't.

Precisely, and it's probably even less as they include DC (we came in 51st supposedly )

Your Score: 100%

i am not surprised. i didn't forget what was in the driver's manual the second i got my license in my hand. people just don't know or don't care about the rules/laws of the road. they're there in their car, and you can a flying leap if you don't like how they're driving. and then they wonder why they get into traffic accidents...
