I only read the beginning, it sounds like skype. My mother regularly uses it to call internationally for free. I believe as long as the other party has skype its free, if you want to call a land line you might have to sign up for something, but its like .01 cents.

It's real. its VoIP just like Vonage or any of the other companies using VoIP.

it's not the same as a normal voip
you plug it into a USB port then plug your phone into it and call through the computer it costs 40 bucks for the first year where other's such as skype/vonage charge 40.00 a month my buddy bought one off a tv add and it is surprisingly good I recommend going back and reading the entire article
This thing is going to put regular land lined phone services and other voip's out of business in a year or 2

How is it not the same as VoIP? Only real difference is MagicJack has a dedicated phone network and doesnt lease like the other VoIP companies. It's still VoIP.

true but not every one has skype not to mention if every one did have skype they would go out of business because they wouldn't be making any money

1. My almost seventy year old grandma uses skype, I think anyone with half a brain can figure it out.
2. You do not have to buy a headset, those are a pain, just buy a separate mic that can be placed anywhere on your desk and a camera that's mounted somewhere and you are set. Not that hard.
3. And yes i meant my mother uses skype to skype connection. And regarding the "not everyone has it" - it takes less then 5 minutes to get it. Get a computer with an ISP and hello free phone. I have NOT used a landline since I moved to US. Its almost been 10 years now, they became obsolete a long time ago.
