				"you have my hood"

Well, i decided to take the SS out for a ride today since its been sitting for the past 2 weeks. I went cruising for a good hour and a half which is a treat for me since i dont drive it much due to being outta work and gas being rediculous lol. Aaaaaanyway before i went home i stopped off at BP for gas. I told the dude to fill it and i went inside to pick up some smokes. when i walked out, i noticed a black civic hatch parked at the stall next to me and it had a hood with an SS hood scoop on it. I kinda smirked and kept walking up to my car. the owner of the civic came up to me, pointed at my car and said, wow man, u have my hood. I just stared at him for a good 30-35 seconds and then blurted out.. no no my man, u have MY hood. Got in the car and left. I did smile the whole way home though

Another ricer P0WNED. But I'm sure that by now that ricer has logged on to his "fast and furious " website and told the story of how he smoked some guy who was "frontin" at the local BP and then went home and "got some" because his Nissan rolls hard

			That's pretty funny.
only thing you both had in common was that both of your hoods are non-functional.

 | Aye, but the Honda would need something under the hood to be functional, as supposed to the Camaro.

 | What do you mean by non-functional? The SS hood directs outside air directly into the airbox just like the ram-air hood. It's fully functional.

 | The airbox is no different. The pic Alex posted shows the air passages on the underside of the hood (the half circles on either side with no frost).

Air comes in the scoop, wraps around to the front, and then gets directed right into the airbox.

 | GTFO lol. I never knew it had those passages. I only remember the LT1 SS hood actually having that strange intake from the hood scoop. I'm going to have to check this out.

Actually, that picture isn't the same as my SLP SS hood. The openings are slightly different but it's the same functionality.

 | Not really true. The old SS396/375 hp cars would walk all over a Z28. But a Z28 would make fun of an SS350 car. So it's not even a valid discussion since the Z28 only had a single engine available where the SS had multiple combinations.

SS = appearance package. One didn't need 'SS' to get L78.
