Yanks picked up Pudge
Yanks gave Farnsworthless to Detroit, for Pudge.
I guess yanks dont think that Posada will come out of surgery as good as he went in.
I feel bad for Molina. He was doing really well, threw out 49% of runners going for 2nd.
Having Pudge will boost defense as well as his stick will give a boost to the hitting squad...not like they need another one.

I was just starting to trust Fransworth alittle. He was finally pitching pretty well, but I could never forget how many times he screwed up in the past.
I really hope Marte is as good as advertised to pick up the slack in the bullpen with this trade. And pudge is hitting pretty well, above .290 I believe. Should work out well.

Jorge will be back next year but I seriously doubt he will be behind the plate maybe first base. That type of injury is hard to come back from and to come back as a catcher is even harder. Molina is the best back up catcher in the game in my opinion he just doesnt have the stamina to play as an everyday catcher. Rodriguez will deff. add another bat to the line up along with his solid deffensive play. As for Farnsworth I think he had this solid play in him all the time it was just Torre's lack of faith and understanding that it didnt come out, but good luck to him in Detroit. Should be an interesting end of the season.

Cool, than Yanks traded one unreliable reliever for a catcher, and another unreliable reliver for a catcher's mitt. Nice work Cashman.
I expect Posada to move to 1st over the next year or so. He came up a 2nd baseman, so he should be able to do it (ie he's not Piazza)
