my '89 iroc...

I bought this '89 almost 2 years ago, and had it sitting in my backyard for a while. Last week i just moved it into my other garage to keep it protected. Its a 56k mile rust free car. I bought it to rebuild my rotted out '85. Doors still close like new, i have video, lol. Just about everything needed on this 89 is great on the 85 so it works out pretty good. here are some pics...

not sure what car the louvers were off of anymore. i had too many lol

and yea, the paint LOOKS good, only cuz the car is wet, lol, its completely faded with the typical clearcoat peel haha.

but plans for it include media blasting to metal, any issues addressed, one dent on the pass 1/4 fixed, new Black paint, 85 iroc wheels, the '85 lg4 will be rebuilt to L69 specs, the '85 nwc T5 will go in it, the rear will be the 85 3:42s but with keeping the '89s rear disc brakes. The suspension and exhaust from the 85 will also be carried over. Side moldings will be kept off and a new red interior installed, basically a ground up restoration to keep a semi-stock look.

...and here are some pics of the rust damage on the '85. That body is not worth saving at this point anymore, plus there a 4" rot hole in the front frame rails.

and YES, i know the garage is a mess and i use the iroc as a shelf...lol

Nice cars, the plans for the 89 sound pretty good, before I bought my 96' I was trying so hard to find a black 85' IROC L69 5-speed gave up my search after a year of turning up nothing but rust buckets or chopped up cars...
