GTO vs Challenger SRT8
http://revver.com/video/1218287/chal...005-drag-race/
13.5 @ 104 for GTO
13.8 @ 105 for Challenger SRT8
Guy who took the film said that it seemd the SRT8 pussy footed it out of the hole, but Its probably the traction/stability control holding it down.

He didn't come off the line as good but he came around the GTO if you notice the win light go on for the Challenger. If the Challenger 60' was worse and his e.t. was slower he would have never got the win light. Those #'s don't add up.

At first I was gonna say that it was prolly a bracket race to explain why the Challenger got the win light, but it definitely looks like the Challenger crossed the line first.
BigAl - where did you get those ETs? You can't see them in the video....

Yes, and if it was a bracket race and he left at the same time as the GTO when he should have left first because he was the slower car, he would never have caught the GTO and definately wouldn't get the win light if he did catch him because he would have broke out catching him.

13.5 isnt a very good time for GTO is it? I thought that thing was capable of breaking 12's stock.

Mid 13's are about normal for a stock GTO, remember, they are several hundred lbs heavier than an f-body.
The Challenger won't cut much of an ET because they come with such tiny tires. Channeling 400+ ft/lbs through 245's or the optional 255's just isn't going to meet with much of anything but smoke.

Several big magazines got 13.3 out of the challenger this summer.
Run it in the cool winter..... and add a better tire and 12's should happen

Modded Grand Prix vs stock Challenger. We are trying to compare vehicles right off the showroom floor.

No, but not every person that buys a Challenger is capable of taking down the track at a 13.5 either....I've seen LS1 Fbodys run anywhere from a high 12 to a low 14 stock - the driver matters

That is true, driver is everything but even the people from car and driver or car craft can't keep up with a Challenger in a 240hp Supercharged V6.

I didn't win anything. I'm just throwing some info out there. I'm not trying to cause trouble, I just like people to give truthful info and have some facts to go with it. Thats all.

Oh I wasn't actually arguing....just playing some devil's advocate since you assumed that the poster you responded to meant a modded S/C GP, when he didn't say anything about mods.
Anywho....back on topic.
