219hp, 287tq...peak HP around 4600rpm, peak tq around 3000rpm.

stock flywheel rating is 225hp so...not bad. it falls off after like 5k though, the stock heads/intake are really choking it

How many miles are on the motor?

My buddy has a 84 5 spd that with 170+k miles on it dyno'd 173 rwhp @ 4400 rpm, 261 tq @ 3100 rpm last year on a dynojet. That's a carb'd 302 with tuned carb, adjusted timing, full exhaust, !smog pump and !power steering. His rings were dying and his valve springs were shot. And he had a flat tappet where you have a roller cam. I'm just curious.

cam and heads are different on an 84 also, just throwing that out there.

about 90k miles on this motor i believe, dont really know to be honest. mods are bbk longtubes, catted x, dumped violators...1.7 rockers....and i think thats it. oh, bumped timing from 10* base to 14.

Referenced the cam change, but I didn't know about the heads, he says they flow the same? And to clarify, he had shorties and a OR H.

84-86 have the E6 casting heads, 87-93 have E7's....theres a difference, and they dont flow the same as far as i know...the E7's are still ****** heads though

my 87 mustang made 236hp/286tq (246/302 uncorrected) with the explorer intake, 1.7 rockers, shorties, off road X, and dumped flowmasters...also bumped timing and a/c delete. stock heads/cam
