My oil change light just came on for about not even a 1/4 of a mile and then it shut off?

true, keep a log of the mileage and date of you're last change. 3 months/3,000 miles.

Maybe not. If it's a race formula oil it may not have the detergents and additives needed for long street use.

Bah. Using quality sythn I run the DDs 6000-7500 miles between changes. Right along the manufacturer's LOF recommendations for normal conditions in the manual, which is for regular oil. My truck & the Z get an oil change in the spring.

Yea, I run a good synthetic in both mine and my wife's Jeeps, and change it every 6,000ish miles. No need for 3 month / 3k mile oil changes when using a good synthetic unless the car is being driven hard.

I've had a few customers rely on the Oil Life Monitor. One lady came in for her first oil change at ~18,000 miles. And I just had someone stop in this morning to make an appointment next week for his first oil change at 25,000 miles.

I run Mobil 1 in all three of my cars and usually change it between 3k-5k miles.

You can go a while with synthetics. It really depends on how the car was used, if it had a chance to accumulate moisture, the temp, etc. I just changed the oil in the SS a week ago and the last change was back in April. The oil looked and smelled fine but there was a little moisture in the cap but not too big of a deal.

Change the oil every 2 weeks and the filter every 4
Change every 5k with mobile 1 also rotate the tires every oil change.
