Another Project Finished By RPM

We just completed a full paint job on this 41 Cadillac that came into the shop back in the fall. As you can see we started by sodablasting the entire car down to bare metal. There was no rust or rot on the car which was impressive, however there were lots of waves in the body and we had to do lots of shrinking work, skim coating, pulling, etc. The fit and finish of the car now is definitely spot on.

The car also has fender skirts on the back however the owner didn't bring the wheel covers with him so he'll be installing them at home after.

Here's some pics I wanted to share.

It's a GM Fleet Vehicle color.....kind of a metallic burgundy. It was the closest match we could find to the original color. The hint of metallic really makes it pop while keeping it close to period correct at the same time.

Let me know what you think in person Rich...your fine detailer's eye is definitely an opinion I value.

Also.....can you get me some good pics of the car once the fender skirts and wheel covers are back on it? I want some truly complete pics for the website.

That's some awesome work Paul, I'm amazed as always!!! The chrome looks phenomenal too - is it original, or did you have to send it to be re-done?

I only took one window frame to be rechromed.....not sure how long ago the rest of the stuff was done. We installed it how it was dropped off to us.

Well done, Paul!

Off topic- is that an NMW red tow dolly in that one pic?

Yup flathead Caddy motor.

Billy....the tow dollie is an old Uhaul unit that I picked up about 6 years ago. Not sure of the actual make. And by the way....did you get my PM last week?

No... I was messing around with the board and my Blackberry and must have moved it. I'll take a look.

Nice! My dad picked up a 40 LaSalle rather cheap over the summer that someone started the restoration on, those motors were supposed to be rather torquey for their day.
