Odometer/Trip Question

Since I got my car I've changed the speedometer assembly 3 times because the odometer and trip stopped working. I took one of them apart and it looks like one of the small gears that drives both the odometer and trip is breaking.

Is there a way to repair this? I found a place down south that would repair it but they wanted $200+. Has anyone installed after-market gauges in their 3rd gen T/A? I have an extra cluster that I can mess around with to try and fit after-market gauges.

not really answering your question in any way but it might be common because my old 3rd gen camaro had all aftermarket gauges in the cluster instead of the stock ones

I believe there's a tech article on TGP for repairing this. I did it many years ago so I forget exactly how it goes now....but if you do a search I bet you can find it.

I'll look around for it. I have a few speedometers sitting around that I can mess with. Can't hurt to take them apart and try. Thanks for the info
