Having seats recovered...

So, my over a year long search for white leather seats and coming up with nothing... who has done/had a set of seats recovered/done for their own car? If so, what did it run you and where did you go?

Thanks

I had my Saturn's seats recovered. I originally wanted to do a custom job (black and tan two tone and wrap for the armrests), but as the car got older, I realized it wasn't worth the investment. Later on, the drivers seat developed a huge tear, and needed replacement anyway. I found cheap Katzkin covers on ebay, and decided to have at it. I tried a headrest, and soon realized it wasn't happening. I then decided to just rip the entire interior out while installing my new in-dash nav and back up camera, and dropped the seats off at an interior shop in Butler NJ and installed some sound deadening under the carpet. They had some amazing examples of their work and were extremely professional. They estimated me for the install of just the covers, but found my seat foam was very worn, and replaced it for me free of charge. The seats came out wonderful, and feel brand new. I ended up spending about $750 total (500 for install and 250 for covers). I would without a doubt go back to that shop, but more importantly, would do it again. Totally made the car feel new again and my friends all compliment me on it. This is where you spend the most time in the car. I understand this is different, but just wanted to give you an idea of what I did before recommending a shop. Here is their website:

Talk to Jl8Jeff. He either recovered a set by himself or had a shop do it and they looked fantastic!

Yes, Jeff recovered his own 4th gen seats. Here's the 4 year old thread (Read: no bumping) about it, pics are no longer there. Shoot him a PM and I'm sure he'll offer advice.

I bought the black/white houndstooth seat covers from Year ONE. You can do it if you take your time and have a good set of hog ring pliers, not the cheap ones. But I would check your current seats, the foam dries out and tightens up over the years so they actually shrink. I steamed the foam which seemed to bring the seats back to life and the covers fit great. But about 2-3 months later they tightend back up and had some slack in the covers in a few spots. I'll see if I can find the old pictures tonight.

They aren't cheap. I bought them when I had a 15 or 20% off coupon.

Year One Seat Covers go to interior and then seat covers.
