Can't contain it anymore, I'm heading home

Well, home away from home. It's been 2 1/2 years since I last left for Taiwan, and this time, my schedule is full, from going to Pizza Hut ( Yes Pizza Hut there is upscale, infact in China you need to dress nicely to eat there!) up to our wedding.....again lol.

I also happen to be going for their 100th anniversery of the founding of the Chinese National Government. Basically, before 1911, China had a government, but was very weak since providences were ran by gangs and drug lords. Then after WWII, when Japan attacked, and killed hundreds of thousands of people, the Communist party saw it as an opportunity to put their foot in the door ,and sell their goverment theory to the people, and they ate it up. By 1949, The nationalist party was ousted, and literally fled to Taiwan, so it will be a very emotional time there.

I highly recommend any of you one day go there. The foods great, they love Americans, it's cheap there, and even three trips for me have yet touched the tip of the ice burg in things to do there. If I could, I would prefer to live there then here.

Just passed on another offer to travel there for work. I get a lot of travel opportunities at work, usually not places I want to go, however.

I hope you get your wish.
Sounds like a great place for you to live.
Good luck at the anniversery party and try not to stand in front of any tanks!

SOPMOD...OUT!

You mean Tiananmen Square? lol, that's in China, worst thing here ( Taiwan) is the weather during typhoon season....which we came during, though not a drop of rain yet (crossing fingers) My wife's friends already asked if I wanted to ride their scooter around. I have my international license, but no designation for motorcycle, but they insisted.

Hopefully I can get my camera/ video camera, and post some pictures. ( I left them in her friends car from the airport, DO'H!) and let you guys see how awesome this place is.

SRGN: It's a shame you turned it down, but at the same time, I would agree to, unless your first/second language is mandarin. People try very hard to learn english here, and will even stop you while your walking to try it out, but without continued schooling, it's not the best. Also, the asian life isn't for everyone, infact, I would have to say, unless you're deeply interested, and willing to try different things like food, and customs, you'll be more miserable then happy here.

Alex: Glad to hear you have an interest in checking out Taiwan, and several other places. May I suggest South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan ( super expensive, even in the damn airport!!) if you're looking for places that financial hardship isn't a major problem in the country. You can go to China ( I refuse to go, cause doing so would give them money, and tourism, so until they become democratic, looks like I won't see the great wall), Vietnam, and the Phillapines ( Spell check).
