Trans Am trade in value

Has anybody on here recently traded in a lt1 to a dealership?? I was curious what the trade in value would be for a car like mine. I was thinking maybe around $3000. What do you guys think??

Yeah... why would you ever trade a car in? Especially an old car.

They'd probably give him a grand sans car..w/car trade-in 2500 off the price of a new car will tempted a lot of folks but not in your situation..better off unloading it here to a fellow member and give them a better deal and still come out w/more loot.

yea trade ins can hurt. but the obvious trade offs are no dealing with idiots coming to your house, test drives, trying to get paid, the car breaking down and the new buyer bothering you, and carrying costs like maintaining insurance, maintenance, gas and even registration until you unload it.

Trade in's have their purpose. Also don't forget if you trade a car in you only pay tax on the remaining balance. So you get $1500 for a trade in and buy a $5000 car you only pay tax on $3500.

You have any pics of the car? Hows the interior? (besides dirty...lol...that white interior was cool but even low mileage ones didn't age too well.)

If your interested, I can send a bunch of pics. I actually removed the 25th seats and installed grey cloth seats in near perfect condition.I still have the seats but they are pretty bad.The interior is great condition except for dashboard crack. Rims were repainted and cleared with factory 25th centercaps. I removed the blue center stripe when I put ram air hood on because they were faded. I also put on mint ls1 tailights because the old ones faded.

I dont think I would be able to find the car I want at a dealership. I think if I sell my car, I would jsut wait to find the right deal on here or local sale.
If anybody sees anything, a LS1 Firebird or Trans Am that may need alittle work. Probably prefer 6 speed but auto is OK too. Not red though

any type of value your car has as a collectors edition is only because it was originally ordered as such...if you're looking to sell you probably wont get any more than a regular lt1 trans am would get since it needs work to be put back to an original CE to anyone looking FOR a CE

I can answer for him.

Unless he removed the VIN, NO. It will always be a 25th car even if he removed the cosmetic stuff. However that type of technicality only matters to collectors, not regular people.

I would post it up as a Trans Am and leave out the 25th part. Even to a regular person they will still google a 25th T/A and compare your car to a stock one and tell the difference. Do you still have the stock hood by chance?
