Guess it ain't hot roddin' if ya don't have to re-engineer..
I had a vacation day to burn from work, so since it was nice today I figured I'd get my feet wet and become an SRT4 mechanic. Yeah, right!
First mod I wanted to do was poly engine mounts, and in order to get to one mount on the driver's side it is necessary to remove the ECM and it's mounting tray. OK, no bigs. Well, put a wrench on the first nut...SNAP!!!! And this is after soaking it in PB Blaster. Alright, will drill it out later. Put wrench on second nut after PB soaking it for a while...SNAP! Dayum!!! And I haven't even been working out in a while! Oh well, thank god for back up cars. Did some drilling and hit Ace for some new hardware ala "unstable engineering" style. But it's going to be dark soon. Oh well, I hear it's supposed to be nice tomorrow as well. I have to admit it does feel good to be swinging wrenches on a cool car again!

I know you like to work out, but maybe take it easy
In addition to penetrating oil, try tightening them slightly first and maybe wait until it warms up a little,

Yeah, I'm going baby steps now. Thank God the CSRT4 guys are helpful like the F Bod guys. I prolly spend more time on the phone getting help then I actually spent wrenching. lol But at least nothing else went SNAP today.

Remind me to not let you loosen anything on my car. Just kidding.
Good to hear you are already tinkering with the new whip. Going to need a ride soon when you get some free time.

You have a great sense of humor. If I broke bolts on a newer ride, especially in the cab no less,(I'm assuming it was in the cab), I'd be more than alittle fuming. I'd be ready to drive it to Newark, park it, and lets just say the rest wouldn't make the back pages of the paper, cause what would happen would be an hourly occurance and I'd need a lift home. Cars are like people. When they act up, sometimes you need to open a can of whoopass and show it whos really the boss, lol

Why would he move something in the cabin to do engine mounts?
