WTB looking for a cheap 4x4 beater or 4cyl or 6 cyl car

I am looking for a cheap 4x4 beater or a 4 or 6cyl car that gets decent mileage i only have around 1100 to spend at max not lookiing for anything show stopping just looking for a cheap beater thanks

CL is your best bet. I'm looking as well. But since I only need it till the road salt is gone, I'm only lookin to spend $500, lol

Lol yeah I hear you i live on craigslist pretty much just so many damn people on there anymore looking for good deals its hard to get anything cheap unless your on there every 30 mins checking the new postings.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a high mileage early - mid 90s Jeep Cherokee for $1000 or less. The 4.0L straight 6 runs forever with minimal maintenance, and the auto trans they came with is pretty solid too.

If ur still looking for a beater I have a 97 cavalier with 247,000 miles 5 speed its got some rot. Its not the prettiest thing but it gets u around. 800 and its urs

+1 i picked up my 97 jeep grand cherokee with 200k miles for only a grand and after a quick tune up it runs like a champ. great to have with the salt and snow on the ground and already used it to help move friends stuff around because its got so much room.

have a late mid to late 90s explorer for sale at work. im not sure what my boss is asking but ill find out on monday.. probably not to far off for what yoiur looking to spend... its 4x4 and pretty sure it has a recently rebuild trans in it. runs good. its like 3 diff colors though lol... but you said beater where you located?
