Weathertech floor liners... yes? no?
My mom wants to care for her new car and would like some decent floor mats. She knows of the weathertech liners from TV and suggested them. I know of them but don't know anything about how they actually are, as in the fit, quality, and durability. I looked on amazon.com and there were 53 1-star reviews versus 38 5-star reviews. I do understand people are more likely to leave a negative comment on a product they didn't like rather a positive on a good product, but 53 vs 38 is a lot. We don't expect them to match perfectly to the point you can't tell they aren't factory design as it seems some people do. It would be $300 for the set of front/rear mats and the trunk cargo liner.
Anyone on here have any firsthand experience with their products?
edit: for $100 shipped, I can get GM made, all-weather liners that even say ATS on them. and then id still get the weathertech trunk liner for 120

I have a weathertech liners in my truck and my cruze. Ill take pics of the fit tomorrow. Totally worth the coin

I have them in my 99 Silverado and 2010 Camaro. It's like Chevy made them for the vehicle.

My mom has the Weathertech one for the cargo area of her CRV - fits perfect, works great.
No reason to not get the GM ones though, especially if you can get them cheaper. I scored a set of the Mopar rubber all-weather mats for my wife's Liberty at a junkyard a few years ago, and the Infiniti all-weather mats for my G35 off someone on a forum. The factory pieces are just as nice (IMO) as the Weathertech.

I've got a set of Husky liners in my '13 Ram. They fit great, are durable, and cost about 1/3 less than the weathertech liners.

I have a set for my Saab. They are technically for a Buick Regal, but the floor pans super similar and they fit well. Kinda clunky for the Summer months, but I keep them in during winter and early summer and they do their job.

Our main distributor just picked up WT as a product line - they wouldn't offer them if they were mediocre or worse...
I've heard good things about them in general, but take Amazon ratings with a grain of salt - many bad reviews are due to the retailers selling items (bad service, communication), and less on the product itself...

Have the trunk cargo liner for my Caddy's trunk. Great fitment, thick, durable, and grippy ( stuff doesn't slide all over the trunk anymore)
Also easy to clean if u make a mess of them. Definately recommend WeatherTech for a high quality product.

Unfortunately I can't beat the $300 price on the mats - the WS markup along with NJ tax just won't let me do it. The ones for the ATS are also not in stock in the local WH - 10 days to get them. Suggest you just order direct.
When you need a Magnaflow system, let me know... LOL

rarely do i ever see a complaint about them, when i do its normally a customer error. you get what you pay for in this case.

I had a set of husky liners in a work truck I had back in the 90's. The fit was good and saved the carpet. Although I wouldn't buy them for a regular car but then again I'm pretty anal about keeping the interior clean.

lol I didnt even purchase ours for the Focus to keep the carpet clean. Thats easy enough to do but I bought it because after 8 years of having no floor mats my heel wore a hole through the carpet of my Saturn. I'd like to not have that happen. Also the mat feels really good and sturdy on the feet when driving

My vote would be an all-weather mat vs. the floor liners. They are harder to clean but tend to catch a lot of stuff. I've got the Ford and VW ones in the two DDs. They work great.

Hmm, perhaps I'll try the all weather cadillac mats and the WeatherTech trunk liner. Its not like my mom will be running around in mud or in conditions most of us would go out in. The GM mats are 100, 80 bucks less than the WT ones. I need to order something soon... my mom went to the dollar store and got these "interesting" mats to put down for now...

I just installed a set in my wife's Audi.The heels of her shoes ripped the carpet on both sides of the oem floor mats.We looked into replacing the carpet but the cost was outrageous.Because the weathertech mats come up higher then the oem mats they covered the rips and they look great.So for $116 delivered and a perfect valentines day gift,two problems solved.
