there was no 2nd gen factory verts, and the conversion cars are worth a fortune.
first gens are trendy right now and also very very pricey, especially verts.
you are also all about birds, i see you in that t/a shirt so often that i wonder if you even bother to wash the thing or if it is some kind of charlie brown plot and you own 80 of the same shirt.
you also told us that it was faster than your old car, about 70% of the 3rd gen verts were 6cyl or had teh same motor as your old car, no way they woudl be faster stock.
i am going with the LT1 powered TA vert.

Well lets take a look here
Its a Vert, so there goes all of the 2nd gen's and pretty much all third gen firebirds.
You said it was a stick, and its stock. Any third gen with a stick wasnt all too powerful stock. Good mid 14 sec car, but not as bad as you hype it up to be, not to mention it would be a 305.
So we can leave out pretty much 2nd and Third gens.
Therefor, we have first and 4th. This is where it get complicated. Both had vert models that could come in a stick and be powerd by a powerful mill. Both vert models would be very expensive, with the first gen probably being more.
You said you spent a LOT of money, and nothing about insurance. Not saying anything about insurance would lead me to belive that something with "classic" registration would be very cheap, probably very cheap.
This would lead me to belive that its a First gen Firebird or Camaro.
So it leaves you with this. What is more rare? First gen Bird or Camaro.
So through all that, my vote is a First gen Camaro vert.

Better go tell Jersey TA and 1RawTA about that.
Ah, Bill you bring up a good point, but I thought about it and he is a young'n, so either way he was gunna need his parentals for sign off for it as he wont be able to purchase the car as he is under 18. Kind of throws a kink in it.

Actually it would be called a Firebird Trans Am or Firebird Formula.
Just like we have a Camaro Z28 or Camaro SS
- Justin
P.S. - I'm saying LT1 'bird

so we can pretty much rule out the second and third gens. now, 17 year old... i doubt he'd get his hands on a first gen cuz we probably all want one of those. 4th gens are a dime a dozen, so i'm told. and if he spent a lot of money on it, it's probable, especially if he bought it from a dealer because they hack the price up a lot. but anything in fbodies in the year '96 and below shouldn't cost you more than 1000, otherwise you're getting ripped. blue book value on those is also zilch unless it's a 97 and up. there's just too many around to pay a lot of money for those. so if he bought it and he's broke now, and if he's smart, it's gotta be a later 4th gen. Hopefully he didn't blow a bunch of cash on an earlier one. and if he did it better be spectacular. but I'll go with the LT1 bird.

as far as pricing goes you way off liz unfortunatly otherwise id own 4-5 lt1 powered cars by now...eric spent like $5k private party on his 93' so lt1 birds go from $3k up usually.

i was really going more by what i've heard about camaros. there are more of them around than birds. my mistake. but either way, i said i was going by what i was told, could be mis-information. maybe if i guessed a camaro i would have made more sense. but i've been seeing a lot of 94s going for 4 thou. too much, i think. i think you can get a great one for 1000 if you look right. that's just my opinion.

Yea Liz, a later thirdgen, as long as it is clean, is still worth at least $2k. The early LT1 cars are usually $3-$5k, depending upon condition.

i still see thirdgens for 10k. unless it's a turbo car in immaculate condition (read: under 1000 miles) it's not worth 10k. this is not the eighties and it's not a corvette. get over it.
