+1 for my dad
my dad called me today from work, just checkin up on me and making sure i wasn't burning the house down, etc.
After a couple minutes of BS, he asked me what we were gonna do about selling my car. I told him there were a couple people interested (girl at my work REALLY wants it), and we should be able to get a good price. He then asked me if I was gonna drive my grandma's car once the Camaro was sold. I told him yes, i have no other choice. He told me this:
"If I were you, just drive it and run it into the ground. Then we'll junk it and we can look for something new."
I had a huge smile on my face...at least my dad understands my car-insanity.

damn thing still goes to work with me everyday. it was tuned up jsut last decade and hasn't had an oil change in 2 years. i have also run it out fo water about 10times(it has a slow leak somewhere taht i never bothered to look into). still every morning i go out and turn the key and it starts. it jsut passed 150k
i still have yet to find a car that can out do my dad's old buick. 89 buick century, 3.1 and teh overdrive tranny. got rid of it at 470k and the thing still started and drove ok. all original and my dad followed a very poor maintenace routine(he used the "if it breaks fix it cheap" system). car only ever wenmt through a few wearable parts like batteries, alts, tires, serp belts......etc
later

there was a guy a few years back who had a volvo that he drove for 1 million miles. Volvo offered the guy a brand-new S90 i think, and the guy turned it down. he said he wanted to drive the car for another million miles.

Tim, we got cut off, it REALLY was my battery power. It just shut off. Anyways, I can't make Island Friday, I have to work until 5 and then the traffic would be terrible. Not to mention I just picked up all the supplies to start prepping the car for new paint. I need to dig into that tomorrow.
So anyways, about that small leak, I have a feeling I know where it's coming from. From the passengers side, reach up under the back side of the intake manifold next to the firewall. There is a small 5" long 1/2" rubber hose shaped like a question mark ? . It's a bitch to get too with the intake manifold on but reach up under there, I bet that's your problem. The hose goes from the intake manifold to the head. I've replaced 2 of them on 2 different cavaliers.
I don't know if WANT to repair it since you do need to focus all efforts into the ls1 thirdgen .
