the crue, it's sort of like heavy metal, but without being heavy or metal. talk about a band that MTV made happen. 
the 80's were full of great REAL metal acts like slayer and anthrax, meanwhile MTV plays motley crue and poisin on headbangers ball.

Thats because they're tame. VH1's I love the 80's is a hoot to watch. I still wonder what happened to my London Fog jacket...

i've seen Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, GnR(the real ones), Metallica(before black album), Priest(w/Halford), Motorhead, Maiden, Misfits, Danzig playing misfits songs, Sublime(don't like 'em, but i saw 'em @ 1st warped tour), Janes Addiction(at 1st lollapalooza)as well as many others...i'm like a concert/show whore
after tonight, add the Crue to the list!
you're absolutely right, Motley Crue is metal "light", but they are fun.
