				Hey Hardcore

			Paul,
 Any experience with this stuff?
http://www.martinsenour-autopaint.co...ross-Fire.aspx
Guy said it would be a good paint to use since I'm not in a booth and it's easy to work with.

But how would this interact with other paints if I like the way the base comes out I may try adding ghost flames. That would probably be HouseofKolor Urethane Enamel.

Never heard of it but from what ive heard from a few people... As far as budget type paint goes Nason is very well respected. Its duponts mid grade line.
I'll be using nason fulthane in the next few weeks on my truck so we will see

Sorry just saw this. I've never heard of that brand before. The fact that they advertise it for fleet vehicles makes me believe it's probably junk. If you want something cheap look into either the DuPont Chroma system or the PPG Omni. Or you can try ProSpray....I've had limited exposure to their stuff and it's not bad.
Try to get your base to lay out as nice as possible then use numerous coats of clear so you have lots to finesse out if need be. 5 or 6 coats with plenty of flash time between.

I've used Martin Senour Paints and found then to be a quality product. I can't speak for the Crossfire line but if it's like their other products, you'll be set.
Edit: Plus the convenience of getting them at your local NAPA is a bonus.

we use PPG envirobase (waterborn) for our main system... but when we do budget paint jobs for people... (we have a late 90's camry in now for a full paint) we use OMNI products... as stated above they are mid grade PPG stuff... i used omni clear on the hood on my firebird and its holding up well now after 2 years... nason paints arent to bad... they are low grade... been out forever though.. they say not to mix systems.... but if your useing a solvent based system to a solvent based system and let the basecoat flash for a decent amount of time... you should be ok shooting a house of colors transparent over it.... see what everyone else thinks though... theres always a chance for the paint to lift or somthing... but i dont think it should be a problem..

Single Stage paint.... as "good" (bad) as Sherwin Williams Single Stage that Macco uses.... good if you wanna spruce up a beater or car you dont plan on keeping for long.

What I want is a quality paint job, at lease a 10 footer! Wwhen I talked with the guy at Napa and told him my plan he said the crossfire paint is good, but I'm not sure what his idea of good is? I saw the fleet paint and though - cheap paint?
I haven't painted in a longggg time but want to get back into it. I've replaced my old faithfull suction guns with a new Devilbiss units, compressor is a 5HP - 60 gallon unit that holds good line pressure. Just that all I use to shoot was Lacquere so this basecoat/clear coat is new. I have a stinger hood for the car I was to play with, and if I like the way the paint comes out then the entire car will be taken apart and painted.

The car is black ( and will stay black), but a want to do 2-3 color ghost flames. I was thinking of doing the flames in a red/purple/blue shades using House Of Kolor translucent enamels. But who knows if I'll ever get that far?

I say wet sand the car, lay your flames on and re-clear.... assuming there's no body work to be done.
I would only use HOK for detail work never a full paint job.... to expensive but for flames hell yeah they have some crazy flipping pearls for that.

 | Unfortunitely the paint isn't in good enough shape, it has to be repainted first.

Look into the DuPont Chromabase stuff. It's very user friendly and easy to find.
