Forget the T/A, here's a Formula (56K NO!)

1990 Firebird Formula
130,000 miles
$3400

Engine/Transmission
5.0L TPI V8
5-spd manual
"Performance Enhancement Group" Pkg. : RPO N10 (dual cats), RPO KC4 (oil cooler), RPO J65 (4 wheel disc brakes), RPO G80 (limited-slip differential), RPO GU6 (3.42 gears).
SLP intake runners
Ported plenum
TB air foil
ADS computer chip
Accel 300+ ignition system + wires
Holley Annihilator ignition module
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
1.6 rockers
Accel Tri-Y headers
Banks 3" catback
Gutted cats
Rebuilt World Class T5 (as of 7/04)
Centerforce dual friction clutch
Hurst Billet Plus shifter (7/04)
Poly transmission mount
RPO JG1 aluminum driveshaft
Heavy-duty water pump
High-torque starter

Suspension/Chassis
Hotchkiss strut tower bar
Lakewood rear control arms
Lakewood Adjustable panhard rod
Iroc wonderbar
Hotchkiss poly torque arm mount
Poly sway bar bushings and endlinks (Spohn and Guldstrand)

Exterior/Interior
1987 GTA seats
1992 Firebird driver-side visor w/ mirror cover
1984 Trans Am console leg rest
1991 Firebird cargo shade
1985 Firebird cargo cover
1984 Trans Am map pocket
1986 Trans Am overhead console
Cyberdyne Air/Fuel ratio gauge
MBA Billet shift knob
New headliner
Black GTA rims w/ chrome center caps
1987 Trans Am taillights
1984 Trans Am hood bulge screen
1984 Trans Am "5.0L HO" decals
Pioneer CD player
Pioneer 220w 3-way speakers

Options
Power windows
Power mirrors
Power locks
Cruise control
A/C

Problems
Needs a brake job and alignment done
Paint is scratched/chipped in some areas
"Typical" SBC valve stem oil leak on startup
Small exhaust leak at header flange
Probably needs injectors cleaned
Power antenna does not go down all the time
Driver side headlight motor is getting weak

here's some pics:

It ran a best of 14.06@98.8 in the 1/4.

Now, this car isn't worth $3400. I checked KBB, and even if the car had the highest-grade options and was in "excellent" condition, it'd still be $1000 less than his asking price. the owner's reasoning for the price is "With its rarity, content, and performance potential, I feel it’s worth it. Plus, try to buy a new Firebird….you cant."

i've asked if he's willing to come down on the price. if so, this could be a good find.

from teh pics it is a good looking car. i think teh price may be a little bit high. i woudl say fair for a car in good shape with that kind of mileage is closer to 3000, but that is something you coudl prolly work on.
only thing i would do is get that 300+ ignition box and go back to teh stock set up.

later

why put the screen in if you aren't going to re-route the intake to take advantage of it? Â*it needs a good detail and the screen needs a coat of paint, too.

What makes you think your parents will let you get this over the T/A?

Its the same style car, and its kinda obvious they wont let you have another like it.

it's not the problem of my parents not wanting me to get the car. it's my mom. my dad is all for it. i'm kinda hoping we're just gonna go over her head and get the car anyway. we'll see what happens.

as for the hood screen, i would assume it's for heat extraction.

it's still for sale....i haven't bothered talking to my parents about it. we had this whole big discussion about money and whatnot. I owe them a total of $730, which should be paid off in the next few weeks. After that's paid off, then i can start saving money for another car. At the rate i get paid, though, i shouldn't bother with money for a car. I should just put it to use for whatever I need at the moment. I'll wait till i'm out of school, and making real money, to a get a car (which will be an '02 SS or Z28.)
