Its a good thing that people are starting to hire outsiders to cut grass and blow leaves. Not like it matters to me this year cuz im out of work on injury til at least new years, which means I wont have to pick that **** up anyway! 45-70 bags of 50+ pound leaves and grass at almost EVERY house in Roxbury is absolutely harsh on the mind and body. lol

The hippy strikes again. Go throw red paint on lawns of people that use biological chemicals to grow and green their grass

I mow my own lawn. BFD. That $$ is better spent elsewhere, at least for now. If I doubled my salary, I would rethink that position,

I'm always surprised how many people live at home but don't mow the lawn, but their parents do (and guessing from a comment like that they are still living at home). Free rent (or even reduced rent) & no hose work? Nice deal. And I've seen it for years. Guys I knew in HS said 'it ain't my house'. Nice. Maybe mommy & daddy shouldn't have bought them that new car. I mowed my parents lawn from age 10 until 2+ years after I moved 45 minutes away. When my first son was born I just ran out of time (plus I blew out my back then). They helped pay for most of my college - I think owed them.

I still mow my lawn just about every other weekend. If its a nice sunday I have absolutely no problem doing it. We have a decent push mower and I occasionally break out the electric weed wacker to clean up around the edges. Once in a blue moon my dad will mow the lawn.

paul.. uhh... we don't use a regular lawn mower for the vast majority of the grass. it already takes roughly 15 hours/week to mow... if we used a regular mower it would be well over 5x that long

well, i was down there in the beginning of sept, and checked into the housing market, not too bad, I also stopped by a chevy dealer right on the OBX and talked to them about hiring and all.

I am definately moving out by dec 2007, it just isnt a 100% as to where..
50% NC(OBX), 40% mainland NC, 5% Clifton area, 4% NY, 1% My current area.
and with my ex recently breakign up with me....NC seems to be a more realistic destination

Phil mows our lawn, or Dad does. And then Phil mows the neigbbors lawns so he makes some money and charges less than the lawnservices.

I mow mine, but it seems like I am one of the few left in the area that does.

This also brings up a small pet peeve I have about some of the services that do mow lawns. I wish the some of the services would be a little more considerate about how they park their vehicles when they stop at a house. It seems like every other week there is a convoy of trucks and trailers parked in the middle of the road with a few cones before and after the convoy of vehicles. Some of them park in the middle of a curve where you don't see them until you come around the turn. It can be dangerous.

I mowed our lawn for about 8 years both with a riding mower (when we had a working one) and a push mower. My brother took over for a few years, and now my cousin (Precious Lawn Service) does it. He's selling the business though, so I don't know how much longer that will continue.
