Nah not really, it was mostly budget. I basically sold 2 of my old computers to get the new one, and the previous 2 were still pretty new 
But, the chip itself was almost the cost of a set of LS1 heads

Do you think if I add another gig of ram I should be ok? Or is the video card my weak link?

Thats what I had, the XL version tho. Depending on your processor, it should be able to run on all low settings, but mine was a 3.2Ghz P4. More RAM will only help if u got a better video card.
*EDIT* Ahh, I see u have a 2.4 ... i dunno man lol
