Yeah, it bites, and the speculators and Big Oil are laughing all the way to the bank. I used to drive from Jackson to Pennsauken for work every day, and I'm glad I don't do that now!
I'm gonna start working from home (and 1 day/wk in Manhattan) in about 2 weeks, so that'll help my fuel bill. I only work about 6 miles from home now, but saving that 12 miles a day will help, too!!

The gas tax in PA is higher than here, but don't put it past the crooks in Trenton to leave it that way for long. If it doesn't go up after the election this year, it will almost definitely go up after the guber election the following year.

Something really needs to be done about the speculation of the oil, and the unregulated oil market. Its beyond funny now. LAST WEEK I put 10 gallons of 93 in the 72 a 3.32. Not a week later, its 3.55.

Yeah, this really sucks. I cant afford a new vehicle till probably the end of the summer, and nothing I own gets great gas mileage. I have a 25 (one way) mile commute to school, and only a 4 mile commute to my boss' house for work but it adds up FAST.

Here's the scorecard, in case you missed it. There's no shortage of gasoline or oil in the U.S. today, and we have near-record reserves on hand. Meanwhile the Congressional mandate for ethanol has jacked up the price of chicken feed for Pilgrim's Pride, which is the U.S.'s largest processor of chickens and turkeys—by $1.3 billion. And that's for just one company processing chicken. This is what passes for acceptable to our Energy Secretary?

according to a report from Reuters on Mar. 11, 2008, Klesse recently released the information that gasoline production has been curtailed in response to slowing demand.

so, the futures market is to blame for the recent spike in prices. what they don't get is, as the price of gas goes up, we are less likely to use it for recreational purposes. so, what it will boil down to is that only those who need to use gas for their cars to get to work and home will be buying it. all other uses of gasoline will go down. will the price continue to rise, or will they finally understand that it's not about protecting the oil interests, it's about protecting the consumer - the one who ultimately will pay what they charge for a gallon of gas. bring the price back down to what it was two summers ago and watch people start using their vehicles for recreation again (thereby using more gas, which will net them more money in the long run).
if i have never been convinced that president bush is an idiot, i have now been convinced. to hear him say the price of gas is being caused by a shortage, which takes less than a minute to research and prove false, is the most ludicrous thing his presidency has been involved in. and that's saying a lot...

Just think about the Billions of dollars the Oil companies are making....and the Billions of dollars the Airlines are loosing. Watch the airfares go through the roof....
The economy has not hit bottom yet so the energy prices will continue up for some time. When they crash they will crash hard just like the housing market.
What is interesting is that my monthly payment amount for PSE&G gas actually went down $30 / month on the Payment Plan.

well, its not really the oil companies...its the refineries slowing down production and hiking the cost, blaming the price of oil to redirect attention from them selves

the new ride is def. less fuel efficient than the old DD so I'm feeling it. However, I expected it and it's been budgeted so I know I'm paying to play. The bird will be going out here and there when it's justified and worth it really.
It does suck though and bad for the hobby as a whole so it's not like I don't care.
Paid $3.59 for 93 2 days ago.
