Just the other day, I called the Star-Ledger publisher George E. Arwady(he actually answered the phone)and asked him one simple question. WHY HASEN'T SOMEBODY AT THAT NEWSPAPER LOOKED INTO WHY AND HOW THE OIL COMPANIES ARE BEING ALLOWED TO RAPE US EVERYDAY DAY WITH PRICE INCREASES! We keep paying the increases because there is no stopping them. Why should they stop raising prices when ALL of us have to buy it. Is $4.00 a gallon the limit, is $5.00 the limit, where IS the LIMIT! I can't imagine what RACING FUEL costs now and how that affects the sport. How about taking a cruise to an AUTO SHOW? Can you afford it? What makes me crazy is that the a s s hole presidential candidates are busy fighting about pure crap that only affects them, while the ENTIRE country in going down the drain with the economy, jobs, food costs, the war, housing market and GAS prices are killing us. There was something on the internet the other day about an idea that would work, but NOBODY will go along with it. That is that we all stop buying EXXON/MOBIL/LUKOIL GAS. Go and buy it from SHELL/B-P/CITGO/RACEWAY AND SO FORTH. Once the stations that carry the brand we are NOT buying see what they are losing in income, they will lower their gas prices in order to get you back in. Then the other brands will have to follow suit in order to keep your business. IT COULD WORK, BUT OF COURSE IT'S A STUPID IDEA, BUT WE HAVE TO FIGHT BACK OR THEY WILL SHOVE IT UP OUR ASS UNTIL THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS EXPLODE FROM THE PROFITS. Have a nice day

I KNOW IT, YOU KNOW IT BUT WHAT'S THE ALTERNATIVE? JUST ROLL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE NEXT INCREASE? Unless there is a nationwide uproar, we are all lining the pockets of the fuel companies and the stock market idiots who keep buying the stock because it is making money for them which they in turn put back into their gas tanks to pay for the higher prices. Are we stupid or have the oil companies already figured that out!!!

We have no choice, there are way too many people that commute to work to just stop driving.. They know we have no choice and they're jumping on it.
Pretending you're helping fight the problem by just going out of your way to get gas somewhere else may be hurting you, if you're paying more. Until there's a cap, we're left helpless

I'am not pretending to fight the problem by NOT buying a certain brand of fuel. Most gas stations are lumped together, so you are not going out of your way to buy one brand or another. Plus there is NO cheap gas anymore. ALL the stations are within a couple of cents of each other.

diesel by my house today was 4.49 a gallon. Time to start making my own biodiesel for 70 cents a gallon. Its at the point where if I were to drive my truck, it'll cost me 50 cents a mile.

gas prices dont bother me really, like people have said before, you pay to play. Personally i dont even need to drive much, hell, i really could get away with driving 10 miles a week min. And with my SS back in NJ, thats a non-issue.
However, when i get my dodge ram back on the road, i have been considering running biodiesel or that used cooking oil with whatever additives procedures are needed.
as of Nov, i wont be buying gas for at least a year so i'll be set then too.
After that, i still have my ninja.

I am definitely going to get a beater. I was contemplating when it was $3 a gallon, but now it is a no brainer. My truck gets about 14mpg back and forth to work and I average 50 miles per day. If I buy a beater that gets 20-25 mpg AND save $1 a gallon I am ahead of the game.

As i walked to class today, it was 3.95. I take back my earlier prediction and I will say it will hit 4 dollars by the end of this weekend. I never bought 4 dollar gas before, I'm kinda excited, i treated as a novelty

i saw 4.71 the other day. imagine all those poor mercedes D owners... i'm gonna lose sleep over that one for sure.
it sucks for the truckers. then it sucks for the owner/operator more than the company driver, because the company just passes on the increases to the end user of whatever is being hauled. the owner/operator either takes a chance on bidding himself out of a job or eating the increase, thereby reducing his profit. can't do that and stay in business.

there is only one thing to do. stop buying gas. there is no excuse. can't go to work? take a coupla sick days. you've earned them, and if the price of gas isn't making you sick it should be. everyone, stop buying gas for one week. think they won't lower the price?
i have yet to put gas in the camaro, thinking that the price will crest and come back down. it isn't coming down, so it looks like the camaro will be out of gas for the duration. i refuse to buy gas at these prices. if you continue to buy gas, then by your silence you are in approval of the prices.
STOP BUYING GAS

The problem with not buying it for a week jim, is that they know we'll need gas again the following week.
