So one hit makes him a cheat shot? The guy is the pinnacle of safeties, every rookie should learn from him and play like him.

first of all you need to learn the game of Football a little more. Dawkins led with his elbow and went for the ball. the helmet contact happened b/c of how both players ended up. Dawkins did not lead with his helmet.
on a similer play when he stopped Chester Taylor in his tracks, he led with his shoulder.
if you follow ANY hard hitting player in the league they all do the same thing. Rodney Harrison....Lynch....Roy Williams....Ed Reed....Bob Sanders....they all hit hard and to call them cheap is just ignorance on your part. Respect the man for what he does and how he plays the game...if you think its cheap, your entitled to your opinion, but the bottome line is, the league doesnt think so.

I love when people cry about hits in football. It is funny to think that the whistle had not blown and they are all wearing 15-20lbs of padding, but making contact with a part of that safety equipment is illegal. If you don't want them to do the flying body check hits they do, take the pads off. Go at it rugby style, just a cup, a pair of spikes, and every intention of knocking the crap out of someone.

It's not just one hit. He took out Ike Hilliard in 2002 and was fined $50,000 for the hit. He has also had some other questionable hits over the years. He pushes the rules to the very edge.

Ok, one hit in a 10+ yr career. I'm still looking his this overwhelming evidence that he's a cheap shot artist.

you act like he;s the only player to ever have gotten a fine for a hit...are ya kidding me?? they all get fined....moreso than you think. most of the time it doesnt even make it to the media. here's a newsflash for ya...ITS FOOTBALL not field hockey. its a contact sport....there's bound to be a few questionable hits.

here...look up Ronnie Lot on youtube.com. watch some of his hits...he makes Dawkins look like a catholic school girl.

Let me get this straight, in a thread about football people are complaining about hits/tackles?

Maybe NFL should switch to touch instead of tackle? no one will get hurt that way!!

You sure about that? I bet I can break you your ankle faster on the soccer field than you would give me any kinda injury if you were to tackle me on the open football field
