I almost bought one in 2001, instead bought an Acura TL Type S - more practical at the time...

You can think of the S4 as the German GN - can be made super fast with the right parts, but will eat you out of house & home in terms of maintenance and aftermarket prices. I would put the motor right up there with the 3L turbo Supra motor in terms of able to be extremely fast with a smaller size 6 and a turbo.

i love S4. Now that i work for an audi dealer maintnance and parts will be VERY affordable

and as for aftermarket i really dont want to make it that that fast. ill have the turbo car to scratch that itch. i just want something to have fun with. Intake/Exhaust/Tune/DV Valves will make due

How do you not think about the M3? The PREMIER SPORTS SEDAN, the father of it all? It is what all cars are measured against!

because im looking for an AWD car. no doubt about it the M3 is sick, but its just not what i want.

I don't wan't an M3 nor any car in that class right now. But if and when that time comes, it will be an M3.
